DENVER -- The Kings flew into Colorado Springs early Friday afternoon, then took a bus to Denver for their night game.
Denver International Airport was closed until noon Friday because of a snowstorm. The Kings were scheduled to fly to Denver after Thursday night's home game against the Washington Wizards, but the storm, which dropped about 2 feet of snow on the Denver metropolitan area, changed the team's traveling plans.
"Same thing, really," Kings reserve big man Maurice Taylor said. "If we would have flown in (Thursday) night, we would have slept and then had a shootaround and walk-through. So it wasn't too bad, just an earlier trip (Friday) morning."
Friday night's game was the first of four meetings this season between the Kings and the Nuggets. They next play Feb. 3 at Arco Arena.
Cleared to play -- After landing at Centennial Airport outside of Denver on Friday afternoon, Allen Iverson had to take a physical before playing against the Kings. Iverson was traded on Tuesday from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Nuggets, but the trade was contingent on successful physicals by Iverson and point guard Andre Miller, who went to the 76ers.
Tony DiLeo, the Sixers' senior vice president of basketball operations, said Miller passed his physical.
Iverson is averaging 31.2 points, second only to new teammate Carmelo Anthony (31.6). Before Friday night, Iverson last played Dec. 6.
As expected, the Nuggets waived forward Ivan McFarlin, who was acquired with Iverson from Philadelphia.
Crystal ball -- After the Nuggets' shootaround Friday, Anthony, who is serving a 15-game suspension for his role in last Saturday night's fight with the New York Knicks, talked about playing with Iverson.
"He's got scoring titles, he took a team to the NBA Finals, and he was the NBA MVP," Anthony said. "It's all about winning now. He wanted to win a ring, and I think he feels comfortable on this team.
"When it works out, we're going to be a team that has the ability to be on top."
Et cetera -- The Kings are 1-5 in the second of back-to-back games this season. Sacramento lost to Washington 126-119 on Thursday night.
• Kings forward Ron Artest was listed as questionable Friday with sore knees.
• Denver center Marcus Camby, who fractured the ring finger on his right hand Monday night against Washington, did not play Friday night.
