Mike Bibby said he's ready to regain his regular-season form of last season, when he averaged a career-best 19.6 points. He endured miserable preseason shooting until his 20-point effort on 7-for-12 accuracy against the Lakers in Las Vegas on Friday.

"Once I get back home, I'm going to get in there and get some extra shots," Bibby said. "I need some practice time by myself."

Bibby said an energized practice always puts players in the right frame of mind.

"We had a real good practice (Thursday), had some real good energy," Bibby said. "We get the energy back, (and) we'll be all right. I really didn't have a lot of energy coming into these games, so I've got to get my energy back, get my aggressiveness back."

Miller looks forward to minutes

Brad Miller, glad the preseason is over, said he's ready for his usual regular-season minutes.

"I'm usually in the 30 (minute playing range) with Mike and Peja (Stojakovic) and everybody else," he said. "You just kind of try different stuff (in the preseason), try different things, then go back to your bread and butter when the season starts.

"The veterans can lead things, but there's going to be a lot of guys who have hot nights, and we just ride them. Everybody's going to get their crack at it."

Paradise room

The freshly christened "Hardwood Suite" at The Palms in Las Vegas includes flat-screen televisions and a basketball court. And it goes for only $50,000 a night.

Dennis Rodman rented it for one night over the weekend, causing ESPN's Tom Tolbert to note that it might take $50,000 just to "sanitize" the place.

Summed up Bibby, "Hell of a room."

Around the rim

Miller, on playing the Phoenix Suns in the preseason: "They've just got way too much energy. Coop (Kings vice president of basketball operations Wayne Cooper), don't be scheduling Phoenix."

Key dates

Tuesday: At New Orleans/Oklahoma City - With a superior roster, the Kings should pound the displaced Hornets.

Wednesday: At Houston - Does Tracy McGrady play with a battered body? Probably, making a good Rockets team all the more dangerous.

Sunday: At Phoenix - The Suns had their way in two preseason meetings. Does the tide change now that this means something?

Nov. 8: Vs. Detroit - Home opener against a team capable of winning another NBA title, with Ben Wallace always a load. Nov. 9: At Denver -Is there a break in the schedule after the opener, anywhere?

thats a grueling schedule opener.... just like last year....

Yeah, Houston (if it wasn't on a back-to-back, I wouldn't include it, T-Mac or not), Detroit, Denver/Phoenix will be tough games.

I say out of the first 5 games we go 2-3 or 3-2.

Its going to be a tough start to the season. We play a lot of tough teams in this first month. Should be a good test.
