...Hawes and Thompson have been working harder than ever recently, quietly and routinely the last off the court after practices while embracing the coaching and life lessons of Carril and assistant coach Shareef Abdur-Rahim. And sure enough, it's getting easier every day...

...the Kings' recent flurry of trades did more than clear salaries and salary cap space for basketball president Geoff Petrie and his team. It cleared the runway for Thompson and Hawes and gave them only one way to go...

Even with a couple of typical snipes by Amick, this is a pretty good article about our "Ebony and Ivory Towers" (a phrase Amick says was coined by Hawes, who used to refer to himself and Brad Miller as the "Ivory Towers.")

I think it's way too early for ANYONE to pass judgement on these two, Hawes is still only 20 years old, and Thompson is still a rookie. I think that this before/after game private workouts with Coachie and Reef will be priceless in the end in developing not only their overall games, but their characters as well. I cant wait to get this season over with and get these two a full off season to work with Coachie and Reef, which I think they will...check back in a year or two, I think you'll see alot of maturation both on and off the court...and with that comes confidence and swagger.
