In yesterday's Bee, there was a op ed piece by Bill Bradley, talking about how he had been out of town and when the bellman (or somebody) found out he was from Sacramento, they mentioned, "Oh, home of the Sacramento Kings!" The piece went on to say that Sacramento needs that identity and that Sacramento needs the Kings.
Now, this morning, I open the Sunday Bee and there on the first page of the second section is Marcos Breton's column. Marcos, a long-time Kings and Maloof almost-basher, is applauding the arena proposals and saying he hopes Sacramentans have the vision to see the possibilities in these proposals and the courage to support them in their endeavors.
Is land-swap proposal too bold for Sacramento?
Um, what? Do my eyes deceive me? Is the local newspaper finally seeing the light?
