Position: Kings assistant coach.
Background: Assistant coaching in the CBA, USBL, IBL and NBA.
Native state: New Hampshire.

Q&A
Q: Did you want to be a high school coach long term when you were doing that back East?
A: My dad (Jack) did it. I was thinking more along the lines of the college game. Then I started coaching with Eric (Musselman), and I fell in love with the pro game.

Q: We know the transient nature of players in pro ball. Coaches, too. Some of your stops?
A: I started in Sarasota, Fla., with Eric, then the CBA in West Palm Beach, then Grand Rapids, Mich., then Richmond, Va., then an NBA job with Detroit for five years, then the New York Knicks for one and now here.

Q: You want to be a head coach some day?
A: Yes. Anyone who is doing this, I think that's their goal. It's not like I'm trying to do it next year, and it's not like the end of the world if it doesn't happen next year, but everyone wants to be a head coach.

Q: Can you hold your own as a player with the other coaches in pickup games?
A: I can hold my own (laughs). I can take Scotty (Brooks) and "E" (Musselman) down in the block. I'm in shape since training camp.

Q: Can a coach deactivate from the job when he goes home?
A: It's definitely always on my mind. It's impossible not to have it on your mind. It'll be different here on the West Coast because I'll be able to go home and not have games on until 1 in the morning.
