BCS National Championship Game

Who is this color commentator, and why is he such an idiot?

I guess you mean Charles Davis the former Tennessee Volunteer star. He's usually pretty good. I remember him during call of that IMO greatest college football game ever a couple years ago - Fiesta Bowl of Boise State over Oklahoma. Anybody, who missed that game should look up some of the highlights - unbelievable!

Anyway, back to this game. A bit surprising the defenses have been in control so far at 7-7 half time. I'm looking forward to the BANDS at the half - great college FB tradition and color - speaking of "color."

I hate both schools, I don't think either is the best team in the country. Neither team really impressed me tonight. Oh well, congrats to the BCS Champs Florida.

I personally thought this was a great game. However, for a while there it seemed that the team who was going to win was the one that didn't give it away.

Gators D made some fantastic plays that really, in the end, saved the game for them. 2 amazing picks and a 4th and goal stand.

Go Gators! (Until the fall - then ... go Blue!) :D

I did not think it was a bad game, the 2nd half was entertaining. I just wasn't convinced I was watching the 2 best teams in the country.

Yeah lol, alot of people I know wanted to see Texas and/or USC. I personally was happy with Florida and OU, but SC would've been nice.

And of course, many wanted Utah as well.

This year was the rare cluster where even a plus 1 wouldn't work as you had 5 teams with a claim to be in the top 2 (+ Boise State and Texas Tech who lost their bowl games).

In one sense, I felt pretty bad for Utah (who I don't think is #1) because their coach bolted for Florida. I also felt bad for Utah after reading countless articles dismissive of Texas or USC because they did not win every game. Hey geniuses, neither did OU or UF.

But biased Pac-10 jocker that I am, I think USC really got the shaft because they got hit with that "Pac-10 is weak" again and then the Pac-10 goes 5-0 in the bowls. Pac-10 is the only major conference where every team plays the full schedule. That makes it tougher to go undefeated year in and year out. I don't believe a gimmick offense like Florida runs would do well against USC's defense, the closest thing is probably Oregon who were held under 30 just 3 times this season. Against USC they scored 10.

I concur!

Interesting game. I don't like it when I feel like you couldn't really tell who the better team was. Obviously Florida deserved the win because they were able to score when they needed to and they stopped Oklahoma twice inside the 10, but it wasn't quite as satisfying.

Oh, and I hate the whole look at the sidelines to see the call thing. Blech!
