I'm relatively new to the country. And always considered baseball as "funny" sport, more like outdoor activity. But thanks to the Barry Bonds, I started to watch it. It was when Giants got to WC.
I will give him benefit of the doubts, for that. I like watching him play. I haven't seen him when he was younger, but saying he got bigger is laughable, since I can always look to the mirror and my photos 10 years ago.To me, the whole story looks like the witch hunt. I admit, his connection to BALCO are suspicious, but it doesn't proof anything, only raises some questions.
Also, I'm very confused about the needs to have steroids in such static game. I mean, they are standing almost all the time, and the only position that may require some help from drugs are pitchers. Those players that were using steroids are pretty much wasted very quickly. I didn't see Barry Bonds wasted, and if he was using steroids all this time - he should be wasted at this age.
And what confuses me more is that there is a sport in USA, where ALL the players are chemically induced people - it's what you call football here. The way those players build - no way on Earth you can do that by mere training. They look exactly like those weight lifting "athletes" in Olympic games - almost all of them were stripped of medals and many were banned from sport.
I will give you my email address and you can tell him to send me a letter explaining how he can justify that the use of tobacco and coffee by Babe Ruth enhanced his game. I can't wait to hear this. And no BIC, AP history, which I took in highschool, is not even close to the difficulty of college history, not even in the same realm. You'll find out soon.Bibby_Is_Clutch said:Just wondering since what you made up is something quite a few people believe. He gave a 15 minute discussion about it with many reasons. If you would like to contact him PM me. I dont remember all his justifying of it but what I did remember was him talking about tobacco and smoking, etc. AP clases theses days are equivalent to college clases and US history is US history. The man is no dummy, trust me.
Dude, tell me you aren't in AP English.Bibby_Is_Clutch said:AP clases theses days are equivalent to college clases and US history is US history.

I never really considered the Giants a rival, just an N.L. team to beat. But we agree on hating L.A. I'm with you on that. The Giants are more of a threat than L.A., so I'm kind of glad they won tonight.Bibby_Is_Clutch said:I think the Giants are done. We needed to sweep your Padres and we are getting rocked by LA as I type. If we end up not making the playoffs then good luck to your Padres. Even though you are our rivals, I just cant stand LA.

I was using "your" to show he possesed an AP English class.......uh....yeah. I'm sticking to my story.VF21 said:Dude, tell me you didn't use "your" for "you're" while trying to point out the errors in B_I_C's post...

Also, here is the link http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2020408 that I read a while ago that kinda proved what I saw with my own eyes.
Bricklayer said:Perhaps you missed this part:
"The NFL banned their use and began testing for steroids in 1987, but players weren't suspended for using them until 1989. The league started using random, year-round drug testing in 1990."
Not a perfect shield -- nothing ever is, and there are few sports where the strength gained by steroid use is as directly as applicable as it is in football. But largely stamped out even as football has found bigger and bigger men to play the sport.

dayum!!! a pitch up and in, around his eyes, and he whacks it into the cove!!!
i'm sure some people are crying steroids steriods!! but man, he sure has some QUICK hands!
zip95843 said:I didn't miss that. But looking to Olympic games and how tough their system is, we still hear now and then about athletes doing steroids - many US sprinters were banned from sport because of that recently, didn't you agree? But comparing to Olympics, football and other major sports policies are laughable.
As I said, judgng only by the look, looking to baseball players and football players - no competition who takes what. And yet, VF21, for example wholeheartly praises football and dismisses baseball. That's what I don't understand...
