Maloof family still meeting with #NBA officials. City not inside. It's looking more and more like this is going until Monday

Rob McAllister ‏ @Rob_McAllister

When I asked Mayor Johnson if he has flipped George yet? "We are working on it"

Bryan May ‏ @BMayNews10

Just talked 2 @KJ_MayorJohnson. He says they'll "go as long as we need to" tonight. All parties, including Commish will get back 2gether

Don't go away mad... just go away!

George is still trying to kill the deal I'm guessing? Maybe the NBA gave him a talking to and told him to stop or something and he left for a second to blow off some steam.

J. Michael ‏ @jmikeNBAusat

I'm just told despite Mayor Johnson saying all 3 Maloofs being on board that George is the only issue

#NBA wants deal to happen & are willing to help Maloofs financially despite Stern's earlier claim that league would not

Meaning, the league wouldnt get into owning a team again like it has done w/ #Hornets but likely in form of a loan #SacKings #nba

When I wrote #NBA open to helping #SacKings financially it likely would be in form of a loan

Or they could just get the team sold to Burkle and everyone's happy

Outside of wishful thinking I am not sure how you guys get from "NBA helps Maloofs to remain viable owners" to "Burkle is coming"

They just got the deal today or four days ago?

I'm not convinced yet," George said when told of Johnson's comment. "I'm not 100 percent convinced. I think they're trying. We just got their deal today.

"It's a lot of different things [being discussed], a lot of different areas. You know, we just got it Sunday, so we're still trying to figure it out."

"We just got the deal four days ago," he said. "It's hard to put something together with a 4 day notice."

It's really three way chess.

KJ without a doubt MUST get the best deal possible to have any shot to pass this, but if he pushes to hard, Stern will take the NBA away from Sacramento.

The Maloofs at least want to push for the best deal and might be near their limit. Also, George perfers the Anaheim deal because they'll end up selling the team to Saumelli, and George will have the funds to buy back some of the Palms so he can set that money on fire. However, if the Maloofs look like broke and disfunctional owners, Stern will start the process of blocking their moves to other cities and pushing them to sell.

For Stern, he'd rather have the team here than in Anaheim. But he can't pee off his 29 bosses if it looks like he strong armed the Maloofs into a bad deal. Also, he doesn't want to deal with an Al Davis to LA or they took my team away McCourt style lawsuit by the Maloofs.

So, they all want the same thing but have sp,e risk. Of course, Stern botched the CBA talks with the same factors at play.

I like that Bennett has been in the room and is in the process. Puts the heat on both sides. For KJ, he gives off the "Look, you know what I think if you push too hard and they have any case to move." At the same time, he can tell the Maloofs, "Look, I head the group that decides if you can move. I just got done screwing a city out of team. Looking at the numbers, I couldn't in good faith say what you want to do is fair. Let's get real."

With Cohen being the swing vote, the loan refi is a little spooky. He voted no on the Kings loan. We'll see where this goes.

Cohn has pretty much been in the loop the most out of the city council members I think, I'd imagine he gave KJ permission to do it. His vote is crucial so I think KJ would keep him updated on everything, and I think since he has previously been a no any deal that gets him to say yes is good for Sac also.

I believe Cohn is actually one of the people in the room for the Sacramento team.

Joe and Gavin got it four days ago because it was sent to the owners of the Kings. KJ also sent two copies to George at the Palms, as both an owner and the "manager", but it look three days to get the mail from his old office to the broom closet they've got him in "managing" the Palms at this point.

No, I think the NBA is going with their Leave no Maloof behind program and loaning them more money. The city is even trying to get into it with some low interest loans. This is according to the J Micheal of USA Today.
