You just got finished saying that you were not comparing us with Denver, and yet you continue to do so.
No, I said I'm not comparing their styles of play, but I am comparing their situations.

Excellent.

Why should you go into a series thinking that you will lose, its better to turn on the heat on the other side and let the spurs atleast think deep down whether the kings are really that confident. offcourse they also know what ron is all about and even we all know what he is all about, yet we think that maybe the kings really do feel that way and maybe the kings are the ones to be beat.

On the other hand nba this year will not have the pistons and the spurs playing in the finals and its a matter when they want to end the spurs season, might as well make it a first round exit to create some interest in the playoffs. They are trying to show parity in the league and the best way to do that is to have upsets early and often. Watch the message from stern and it is clear that he wants legends to be born in the playoffs and what better way to create one out of ron this year. Again this is all conspiracy theory and maybe it wont happen, but i believe the nba is a business run by stern and not a real basketball championship to the core, given that i believe in what i say as well. this series has the potential to go 7 with the best team in game 7 taking it all, or maybe the kings finish of the spurs in 6.

And as pop said or even phil said in 2000, bonzi is a real challenge for any team in the post season if only bonzi can really believe in himself when the coach knows how to use him.

That is very...convenient. Its all a vast conspiracy if we pull it off? But if we don't there is no conspiracy. Nifty. Kind of puts us in a no win. I think the odds are low we do it, but its still possible wihtout the normal conspiracy bunk kicking in. And if you really believe what you are spouting why would you even bother watching the playoffs? Apparently any result except the one you anticipate SHOULD happen (Spurs/Pistons) is invalid anyway and obviosuly the result of a paranoia nuts' wet dream, so what really is the point?

Theses quotes of Artest's that keep showing up? It's all publicity, hype, getting up for the big game, whatever...

The proof will come starting April 22.

It's not like Ron is seeking out the media; they're surrounding like vultures, shoving a mike in his face and hoping they'll get a good sound byte for the evening news. And, congenial fellow that Artest is, he's more than happy to oblige.

This is all smoke and mirrors, style over substance. And it's all frills...

It's getting people talking about Round 1. I honestly don't have a problem with any of it.

Ah, but therein lies the rub. We're not the Denver Nuggets and we'd just as soon a Lakers fan rooting for the Spurs because of Robert Horry didn't keep trying to compare us.

;)

I like Artest attitude toward this series. Confidence goes along way, in basketball. From experience, it really helps when you have someone on your team that stands up and speaks that way. If the team can adopt this attitude, not so much the talking, we can win this series.

Lol- your sig is awesome...ive never seen that quote

Ok, let me get this straight.....it went from the Kings playing in the playoffs.....to not losing in the 1st round....to being the favorites?

Well one isn't so bad. The Kings are playing in the playoffs.

I feel this is all a continuation of what he already said. Maybe some teams like being called the underdog, just not Ron. Should I believe him, yes and no. Confidence is good to have but at the same time Ron's known to speak first, react or retract later, same as Chris before him. He'll learn one day to not speak so much out loud while there's a microphone waiting.

Who will more than likely be a die hard Pistons fan some time towards the end of June, proclaiming her love for Lindsey Hunter! :D

I like Ron's attitude, and hope it carries into next season. I just don't think the team has been together long enough to win a series against a 60+ win team like the Spurs.

How about Laker fans rooting for the Spurs because they're playing the Kings?? ;)

I think there's a difference beetween confident talk and arrogance/smack talk. Some even say that you should win something before saying things. But then, the Spurs have won a few blings in the past few yrs, yet i haven't heard anything disrespectful coming from 'em about their adversaries.

"I don't even think we're the underdogs any more," Artest said. "I think we're the team to beat, just by how we've been playing."

"There are going to be a lot of road games coming up," Artest said. "I'm sure San Antonio is going to be ready for us, so we've got to come in there with a lot of energy and confidence. We're on the road this whole playoffs, so that's where we've got to win. We've got to make it our home away from home."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Confidence can sometimes be mistaken for arrogance. Above are the quotes from Artest and I see nothing wrong in what he has stated. Artest is simply stating that we have to be beat as well and it won't be easy. The article is trying to stir up controversy, which is what the media does. If it weren't for Artest's confidence and the resulting inspired play from Kings, this wouldn't even be up for discussion as the Kings would be stuck in lotto land.

I agree that media is one heck of propaganda machine, true that ;). Let's just say. you talk the talk, then you should walk the walk, and if things don't really come out the way you describe them, be ready for the cold served roasted crow later on :D

I do believe that the kings have the potential to match up with the spurs and beat them in a 7 game series. that aside ....

NBA and the refs control the game so much that you cant predict any series because of the same fact. You look at the ref crew at the beginning on the game and you can pretty much decide what the outcome would be :). I dont see the spurs and pistons meeting in the final again and I said that in the beginning of the season and i will say it again, it is boring and the ratings were down, stern doesnt want that

On the other hand, people believe that the spurs Vs mavs series will be great and that is what my concern is.

To some extent it depends on what kind of team shows up for the playoffs from the kings side, but on top of that if you have an agenda from the nba that a spurs mavs series would be get then kings will have to play exceptional, flawless game to beat the spurs and i think that will be difficult. If nba doesnt dictate the series then i believe that the kings will easily beat the spurs in say 6 games.

Well when you don't believe you can do it .........there is no point in trying to do anything in life .

BELIEVING is the first step in life !

I prefer my roasted crow served hot with barbecue sauce on the side, thankyou very much.;)

There's also no way any team can simply run over a club that went 19-8 in their last 27 games.

Yeah, I think Denver was 24-4 down the stretch last year (sorry, didn't see that Misti had already posted this).

The point of the B2B's isn't that the Kings didn't have one, it's that the Spurs completely sucked at them all year. 5-10 in them, I believe; while going 58-9 in games with at least a day's rest.

Now the King's job is to beat them 4 of 7, with no B2B's.

Dazed and confused man.

At the point that you have constructed entire intricate scenarios of who's conspiring to do what and when (with my normal notation that a conspiracy encompassing dozens if not hundreds of people is virtually impossible to sustain without somebody saying something + writing a million dollar tell all book)...that's not coming from outside, that's coming from inside. Its science fiction.

Let alone in basketball of all sports where you would have to conspire to alter literally dozens of plays in the course of a series to ensure one team winning, and where people's hot and cold streaks are completely out of your control. And then apparently do this throughout the playoffs? Year after year? Come on now -- most soap operas have a better plot than that.
