Just a few observations on the first full night of NBA basketball:

- Bulls gave back all of their momentum from last night's win against the Heat by losing to Orlando by 15 tonight

- former Kings aren't shooting the ball too well to open the year: CWebb shoots 4-16, Peja currently 2-13. A counter is BJax (currently 4-7)

- Larry Hughes is having a very good redemption game against the Wizards after his no-show in the playoffs against them last year. Currently has 23 points near the end of the 3rd (Lebron has 15 to this point)

Since I bagged Peja's shooting night, it is only fair to note that with less than one minute left in the game and the Hornets clinging to a 3 point lead, Peja hit a jumper. Fairly clutch shot, it would seem.

Orlando is looking very good. They ouplayed the Bulls much more than the scorline indicates.

Howard/Darko frontline will be fun to watch. Darko started slow, but he played well in the 3rd. Dwight was just a beast all night long.

I'm sure Big Ben was much happier playing against Shaq than against DHoward.

he also hit a shot before that when NOK was up 1 and then missed a FT so he sucked all game but came up big in the end. Good win for NOK.

Rudy Gay with 17 in his first game as a pro (which Memphis may win in OT)...Battier with 3 points and no other statistical contribution other than 5 fouls and 1 block in his Rocket debut (and Houston is getting handled by Utah).

Trailing 85-80, the Celtics cut the deficit to 85-84 with 2:31 left on a layup by Pierce and one free throw each by Szczerbiak and Jefferson. But Stojakovic hit a driving layup with 1:34 remaining.
He followed with a 20-foot jumper before Pierce made one of two free throws, cutting the lead to 89-85 with 37 seconds remaining.
"I want the ball in those situations," said Stojakovic, who had 11 points in his first game since being obtained from Indiana in the offseason. "I am still trying to figure out where to get my shots."
