Arena Opponents Weigh Continuing Petition Drive

Laughed when I read that. I bet he even stretched the truth on the "several thousand" he gathered. I bet he only got a few hundred and probably half of them weren't valid.
 
I would like to know where this group gets their funding... the deal collapses after the maloofs bail out and suddenly the "motivation" isn't there anymore? Shouldn't they be more motivated NOW, to get their initiative in the ballot before another effort gains momentum?

Unless of course, their "motivation" was only stopping this particular ESC deal by providing a "resistance" group that could be pointed to if "someone" wanted to sabotage the deal...
 
Why is there no interest anymore? That just seems stupid, since it wasn't about any one particular arena deal. I think they were just having trouble generating any interest in general. At least it sure sounds like they would have had trouble getting the required number of valid signatures in time.
 
Yet they made a lot of noise and provided "ammo" to the maloofs to use in their BOG presentation. If this wasn't just about this ONE arena deal, it's just really bad timing on their part to quit now.
 
what's funny about this is that if an arena plan goes forward, without the Maloof's (err NBA's) $70+ million contribution and without having the Kings as a tenant for 30 years, the potential risk to Sacramento is greater should revnue fall short. It's still worth pursuing in my book, but you'd think the anti arena crowd would be even more passionate knowing that KJ still wants to see this happen and "plan B" is still being drawn up. Further proof that this was a fringe group to begin with, without much support in the community.

And the voices in my head keep trying to convince me there was another force behind this group while visions of Larry, Moe and Curly dance in the air.
