I've never been to Sac. I lived most of my life in NYC, but now that I've drank a bit and smoked some homegrown, I reached a revelation that has a possibility of being true.

1. Arena deals going south
2. Maloofs threatening to leave (possible)
3. And now trade (to destroy team)

As VF21 put it, she saw a dishonest Petrie lying to us about "how this deal would make us better". Consider this, maybe the reason why this was done was to sour support with Sacramento. Now those guys can say, "We weren't appreciated around here, we want to take the team elsewhere."

EXACTLY! That is what I think this whole stinker was about. No Peja vs. Webb BS. The Maloofs through Petrie are trying to put us back in the lottery to get out of SAC!

THis is my opinion and not fact, but if this were to be true, what a dirty dirty thing....
 
That's going a bit far, but if the Kings were to move, dismantling and starting over would be part of it. You hardly see a team move when they're contenders.
 
One more time guys -- the Maloofs can leave at ANY time. They don't need the lottery as an excuse. In fact it would be BAD business to destroy the value of our asset before moving -- other cities might pay a premium to nab a contender, but would be less willing to do so for a lottery team.

That is a good point, however, what is the merit of moving when the city you're in gives you full support? - And there is the conundrum...
