I speak of the ORIGINAL ARCO Arena (not the one that is currently Sleep Train Arena), but the one that was a temporary home for the Kings when we first moved to Sac Town....

I am pretty sure, and please correct me if I am wrong, that there are a handful of individuals on this forum who were old enough to attend games at that arena back then.

If so, do any of you have pictures and/or video clips that you would be willing to share with me/us? I have always been intrigued to see how the view was from various parts of the arena, and also to see actual pictures of the arena itself, inside and out....

If no one has anything, then it is perfectly fine, but if someone on this forum is able to dig up images from way back then, I would love to see them...

If no pictures/videos are available, and if anyone went to a Kings game in that arena, how would you describe the atmosphere?????

Like I said, no hard feelings if pictures and videos are not available. Also, no hard feelings if no one on this board is old enough to have gone to a Kings game in that arena.

I've been there also but no pictures. Someone must have pictures of opening night with guys in tuxedos and tennies.

Went to a game once there. tickets were hard to come by then at my youthful age. I can remember that the place was loud, very loud. I also remember the seating was bleacher type seating. You felt close. right on top of things, kind of like Wrigley Field if youve ever had the opportunity to visit that great stadium. Anyway, Arco seemed like heaven when it finally opened and I dont care what anyone says, I loved Arco. Still do. Good memories.

I was there but no pictures. The feeling was more like a college gym than a professional arena. Close seating and LOUD!

I remember the first Arco, but I was VERY young. I remember the outside looking like a typical office building.

I still have 4 unused tickets from a game against the Rockets that inaugural season. My mother worked for a General Surgeon who had season tix but often had to miss games due to emergencies. He gave me the tix as a souvenir and I still have them to this day. I was fortunate enough to go to several games at ARCO 1 the first couple seasons. I even sat in one of the 4 box suites located in each corner of the arena. My greatest memory of that building was how easy it was to get player autographs after the games. The visiting team had to board the bus outside of the arena and walk past all the fans in order to do it. I have so many autographs from those first 2 seasons.
