I miss Chris Webber already. Matter of fact I just got his Kings throwback tonight (the one in the picture above). In just a couple of hours the throwback became a throwback throwback...

It sucks that all the CWebb threads are gonna be here from now on.

I just cant get over the fact that he just got traded...

While I was payin for the jersey I thought to myself "damn I hope Chris dont end up gettin traded." I came home, turned on ESPN and I saw Chris Webber's name on the trading block. Hours later they announced "Chris Webber's going to Philly". How ironic.

Im going to rock that jersey on the first day of spring...I dont give a Duck!

Come on people!
Am i the only one who noticed that last year, when webber was missing the kings played much more like a team and simply better!
Yes, webber was good, but when things dont work out, you gotta make a change!

kings had DC and divac last year though
And now they have mobley and thomas.
I dont understand, look at it the kings have a great starting 5 right now:
Bibby
Mobley
Stojakovic
Thomas
Miller

And they got 2 extras for the bench to help out.

JG - It's clear the Kings are now a team in transition, with more changes undoubtedly coming in the off-season. An era is over now that a lot of us truly enjoyed. It was the excitement of Jason, Vlade and Webber that brought a LOT of new fans to the Kings.

This is not a move up IMHO. It is part of a total rebuild, something that had been forecast when Vlade was allowed to sign with the Lakers and now it's coming to fruition.

Two extras for the bench? You do realize we lost a prime bench player in Matt Barnes, who was just starting to come into stride, right?

Seeing Webb in this forum is going to take a whole lot of getting used to. Man, oh man.

aint quite right, is it? i've been watching kings basketball since i was 7 years old. but i was really only conscious of the sport of basketball and its greatness in the webber era. i'm almost 18 now, and all i've ever known is these webb-era kings. i admit that makes me a little biased, but i think most would agree with me that this was a ridiculous trade, from an objective standpoint. there's gotta be some sort of general rule among GM's that you DO NOT TRADE an all star caliber player and not receive an all star in return. guess what, not only did the kings not receive an all star, they didnt even get a starter. thats why its so heartbreaking to see chris go this way. all he's worth to the kings is 3 bench warmers. after 6 and a half great years, 3 mediocre role players is the best we could get for chris webber, 5 time all star and, imo, future hall of famer.

i'll miss ya chris. thanks for the memories!

Yes, only future will tell how wil he develope.
After all, it is the end of an era, your right.
But, it was something that was expectable (Webber traded).
I live in israel, and over here i know alot of Sac fans (:) ), everyone here talked about trading webber, even one of the top sports website wrote a comment that says webber's not working out.
Webber has benn alot of help for many years, the all team has been.
But i guess that its time for a change...

No they weren't. I watched every game last season, and the Kings were not "better" without Webber; they still had the same problems, and in fact were further complicated by having a "star" who did not make his teammates better, and not a single player who even occasionally commands a double-team.

Even with the marshmallow schedule (which people who want to believe that we were better without Webber invariably overlook), we were only even as good as we were because Divac's lazy *** was motivated to play for the first time in several years; well, Divac isn't here any more, motivated or otherwise, our star sixth man is out for the season, and our playmaker/defensive anchor is gone as well.
