Anyone else think Cousins can be the 2nd playmaker next to Tyreke

We've all been wanting a playmaking SG or combo guard to pair with Tyreke. The logic is pretty sound; we DO need another ball handler and playmaker when he's in the game.

After watching Cousins in the summer league, I'm starting to think we DON'T need playmaking from our SG. The guy wants to create for other players, maybe even more than our star PG.

Making good entry passes into the post is going to get guys playing time this year. I can easily see him being a 3-4 assist center in this league. Maybe more depending on how the offense is run.

Listening to the "chat" between C-Webb and Coachie, I think they both are convinced Cousins can indeed be the successful passing big man we haven't had in a long, long time. In fact, I can't remember a time when Coachie was so animated about a rookie.

They also talked about Boogie's natural feel for the game, with Coachie actually comparing him in that regard to Webb himself.

I think Cousins can and will be everything we want and more.

1. Cousins Ready To Get Physical For Kings

Historically, the Sacramento Kings haven't been known for being a physical team.

When they were challenging the Lakers for Western Conference supremacy, Scot Pollard and Lawrence Funderburke were probably their two toughest interior players. Chris Webber and Vlade Divac were more likely to impress you with their shooting and passing ability than with their brute strength and imposing physical presence.

Fast-forward nearly a decade and the Kings have gone through a huge face-lift. With the debut of DeMarcus Cousins in the Las Vegas Summer League, they've officially become a powerful, physical team. It started with the addition of rookies like Tyreke Evans, Omri Casspi and Jon Brockman. The front office decided to start a new era of Kings basketball that centered on toughness and all-around skill. With the addition of Cousins, the prized big man from Kentucky, they've continued the trend of physical players...

Good article with some strong points but seriously underrating Vlades toughness and post defense. He was one of the few people that could give Shaq trouble down low in an era where the rules were in force to let Shaq dominate. Shaq would literally foul on every spit move but it would never get called.
