Any Post Game Quotes From The Kings?

I seriously doubt if the Kings will mention the officiating. Absolutely nothing good could come from it. Besides, it doesn't matter. ALL that matters is the W...and the sweet plane ride home with 7 consecutive Ws... Sometimes life is just good!

:D

Not to mention complaining about the officials gets you fined. Last I heard the Kings players and coaches like their money. ;)

I'd like to see if they'll say anything about the officials.
Well, on the radio, they interviewed Bobby Jackson. Bobby was a bit frustrated at the refs (he even said it felt like 5 against 8 (Lakers)). But he was glad about the win and that's all that matters. :)

I'm a bit disappointed in Bobby if he said that on the radio. I was really hoping this would be the year the Kings WOULDN'T complain about the officiating in public. It doesn't do any good and can, in fact, actually hurt the team the next time that official is working one of our games.

I honestly think it's time for these guys to get handlers of some kind. They need to focus solely on their performance and their game and, IMHO, QUIT talking about things just because someone in the media asks them.

Just my three cents...

I agree with you, VF. :)

The reason Bobby brought it up was because Gary Gearld asked him about the play that Rush(?) fouled him when he was running to get the ball out of bounce but there was no call. Bobby usually say what's on his mind too. :D

Come on the truth hurts. Whats with the refs saying that when the teams step it up they have to as well. Then all of a sudden instead of letting the players play they start calling ticky tack fouls. I am sorry but as a fan I hate seeing refs make so many mistakes.

I think you misunderstand my point.

I'm not saying the officiating is above reproach. What I'm saying is that I hate to see our players make comments about the officiating because it always seems to come back and bite them in the posterior.

How so?

1. Players who whine about officiating in the media run the risk of fines.
2. Players who whine about officiating run the risk of even worse calls in the future. For example, Violet Palmer hates, detests and abhors Chris Webber. I don't remember why but I do know EVERY single game she's officiated for the Kings has had at least one horrible call/non-call involving Webber.
3. Every team in the league is suffering from less-than-optimum officiating. The problem won't be solved by players talking to the press, even in response to stupid questions from Grant or anyone else. It will only be solved when the league and the owners make it clear to the officials that a certain standard will have to be maintained.

Those are my opinions, based on a lifetime of following the NBA. You don't get better calls from officials you've dissed in public. Doesn't happen. Won't happen.

i'd hate to think what chris would have to do to appease her then.

Kings Coach Rick Adelman
On Kobe Bryant
“He kept getting to the line on us and he was scoring every time down, we just wanted somebody else to try and beat us. It’s really difficult to do that because when you accept pick and rolls and our big guys get out there he splits them so much, but we just had to scramble. You’re going to have to give up some shots to some other people, fortunately a couple of their guys missed when they were open, he’s just a handful.”

“I think our schedule is so difficult early, we play the three Texas games the first three games, came home played one, then played two on the road, we were not playing well at the start. Plus with the schedule, but once we beat Phoenix in Phoenix and got home for five games…we’ve been kind of getting better as our home stamina, we got better offensively so happened and now we’re playing a lot better offensively then we were earlier in the year and we’re healthy.”

“You can look at our team and we led the league in assists last year and the year before, we were down to twenty-five twenty-sixth in the league in the first road game, since then we’re starting to get thirty assists, nine turn overs and we’re starting to raise that, we’re up to fourth in the league in assists that’s where you can tell if we’re playing well. If we got assists and a lot of guys get them…that’s what has been the key, we’ve been playing so much more efficient offensively.”

“This was a great game, Kobe had it going and I still say I think that they are going to be a playoff team. They have got a couple of guys hurt right now that are going to help them, they’re young, they’re going to work Vlade into it eventually, and they got probably the best perimeter person in the league and then they got the people around him. We new it was going to be tough playing them here. It’s a great win for us, now we get to go home and play Minnesota and we go on the road again.”

Chris Webber
“Our season last year was so much different, we never had any consistency. Getting into this year we need to find an identity, we lost a big piece of our puzzle in Vlade.”

On Vlade being in a Lakers uniform:
“My concentration hasn’t had to be this good in awhile because when he is on the side and all of those things he use to do with us, he is doing against us. You miss him because he is great in the locker room and he is a great person. You just like working with great people and he always has everyone else’s best interest at heart”

Mike Bibby
“Everybody is doing what they need to do. We are passing the ball and moving the ball and that is all you can really ask for.”

On playing against the Lakers and former teammate Vlade Divac:
“A win is a win. We are happy with the win and we really don’t care who it is against… It was weird. He (Vlade) doesn’t look right, he doesn’t look right in that uniform.”

Brad Miller
On the Lakers vs Kings rivalry:
“Fans down here acted like it wasn’t as big, but that is probably just L.A fans in general. They don’t get as excited as our Sacramento fans so it is a little different.”
