Anti-arena campaign bankrolled by retirees, Sandy Sheedy

#3
Be careful in how you use a general term like 'retirees'. I have been one for a long time and I had no part in supporting Sandy Sheedy and the antis.

Sandy Sheedy contributed $15,000 out of $24,000 to STOP's epic failure of an attempt to stop the arena progress.
Still, the STOPped Clocks and other SacBee naysayers claim victory while completely overlooking the fact that it was the Maloofs and their bad-faith bargaining that sunk the arena deal, not them.

That money would have been better spent on swimming pools for the kids.
If Sheedy had $15G's to waste on a worthless campaign such as this, I think her constituents should be far more concerned about how grossly overpaid she is rather than whether or not money generated by after hours parking downtown, which is only generated because of an Arena, should be used to finance the Arena.

Well, I'm about to join the ranks of the retired and I'm a grandma to boot. I'm really sick of so many retirees who don't want to pay for anything that might make the future better for succeeding generations. Me, I'd give up every penny I have and my life, if I knew it would give my son and his family a better life and a better, more modern city to live in. Hell, I'd give up almost anything, if the children of today could have a better Sacramento and a better world in general.

And yet another attempt by the Bee to obfuscate the story here. Sandy Sheedy contributed $15,000 to a campaign to defeat the arena proposal? It's not about people being retired, it's about a sitting supervisor contributing the majority of money to STOP while acting as though she had nothing to do with this totally independent group of citizens (or however it was she phrased it). Bah, humbug, bulldooty.

The stuff you step in when you walk across a pasture...or listen to when Sandy Sheedy is talking. ;)
