[Prep] Andrej

Had the board not gone down I was going to share that he committed to Illinois.

I hope his NBA career pans out because Stanford to Cal to Illinois is not the trend academically.

It's OK. Daddy has money.
I assumed that and going to Jesuit is part of what influenced the Stanford decision, and I guess I understood switching to Cal after the coaching change there.

And yeah I know these kids aren't students but at least until semi-recently you actually had to qualify for a Stanford admit.

I haven’t been following his journey too closely since he graduated from Jesuit but isn’t this his 3rd NCAA team in 3 years? Didn’t he do Stanford, then Cal and now Illinois? Transfer portal is wild.
Correct.

Also he had a "major break out game" at each school. I know he had one against my Wildcats. Then he had one or two last year but still transferred without gobs of fanfare. I think he's probably a second round or UDFA on a 2-way deal unless he breaks out for an entire season, kind of what we've seen from most second generation prospects, not counting Bronnie.

He's projected to be a late 2nd or UDFA guy so he might stay in college for his Senior season to collect the NIL money. He's an interesting enough prospect that I would take a chance on him. Curiously enough, for being Peja's son the shooting is probably the one big knock on him at this point. He's looked effective as a slasher and good enough on defense to fill a SF role in the NBA but he's got to be able to space the floor and right now he's shooting 31.8% on threes over 63 NCAA games.

Still can’t shoot from the perimeter worth a damn but Andrej continuing to look like an NBA talent. Don’t know if I’d be willing to pick him in the first round or early second but if we had another pick burning a hole in our pocket, I’d swing it.

Also yeah it’s hilarious that Peja has a son that looks just like him but can’t shoot.

Big game for Andrej today -- 30pts, 9rebs, 1 ast, 2 blks and he shot 4 for 7 from the three point line. If he has a few more games like that he'll work his way back up to the top half of the second round, maybe even the late first.
