national media can see the eerily similar mirrored actions to GSW, but we can't

"Ranadive is likely looking at Golden State’s success with Steve Kerr with envy, and thinks Mullin can provide a similar spark. Like Kerr, Mullin is a former player that has a background as a general manager from his time with the Warriors from 2004-09, where Ranadive was a minority owner. Mullin has been working with the Kings as an advisor since 2013."

Who says we can't? By the way the comparison of Mully to Steve Kerr actually should give Kings fans just a little bit of hope assuming he's the head coach next season.

For those that don't know, Steve Kerr was a terrible GM in Phoenix (just like Mully). Kerr took a team with an identity and traded for Shaq and pretty much ruined their identity and chances. Even though he's a great guy and a brilliant guy, Kerr sucked so badly as GM in Phoenix that people were concerned about his prospects as a coach.

Basically what I am saying is that I would not be so sure that Mullin will be a failure as a head coach. GM and Coach are two very different things and I do think Mullin would command the respect of the players. Now the bigger question would be would he try to run all that 4 on 5 and NBA 3.0 nonsense? If so that would lead to failure.

Mullin wants to coach like Nellie enough said.

Maybe but maybe not. You base that on assumption and anonymous sources. We don't know what kind of coach Mullin would be or whether or not he'd be successful until he actually does it. Perhaps he's not the coach just yet because he doesn't want to take orders from Vivek and PDA on "style of play" and how to run the team.

He flew with PDA to Vegas to convince Vivek to fire malone. He wants to run/gun as much as the other 2 clowns.

He doesn't want to coach yet because he wants a training camp.

And an A list of assistants because hes basically clueless. Those A list assistants are generally more available during the offseason.

If this is going to turn into another Mullin discussion, I'm going to close the thread. There's no need for THREE different threads to all be paralleling each other on content.

The difference here, and its a big one, is that the Warriors were already a playoff team with a working system and roster in place. The team's roster was constructed to play in a way that works with their stars. Their best players form one of the best shooting backcourt duo in a long time while our best player is a hulking center build to punish people in the low block who has the ability to shoot 17 footers at times.

Kerr never had to take the Warriors from disarray and mold them into contenders. He inherited a team that was already a playoff team with a system in place. The team improved this year likely because they had another year to gel and the star players are still young and improving individually as well. Kerr just didn't go in and change things to screw it up.
