An idea

My artist roommate made a suggestion about keeping the Wheaties boxes. You may not want to keep the cereal around for a long time. Then again, if you use the cereal, you could flatten the box for storing.

I want to keep it looking like a full cereal box, but don't want to keep cereal that could (over time) attract vermin. She suggested carefully opening the bottom of the box (so that it looks like an unopened box), removing the cereal, and replacing it with a block of styrofoam that you can cut to size. You can get that at any craft store, i.e. Michaels, Wishing Well, etc.

Anyone else have ideas for keeping this special new "keepsake" of our Champion Sacramento Monarchs?

I like using packing popcorn in my cereal boxes- and I have a lot (Chicago Bulls 3-peat, Jordan, etc)... that way it "shakes" and sounds like there's still cereal in it........:)

Any artists-in-residence types out there with ideas on how to keep the boxes from fading?

FYI, Adult Living Today (ALT) magazine has a very nice article with photo on page 8 about the Wheaties honor and our Monarchs. I found the magazine on one of the local free literature racks.

Yes! My roommate (who is an artist) says to spray fixative. Krylon brand makes several fixatives. That will leave a thin acrylic layer that will protect the image.

Ask and ye shall receive... And keep the box away from direct sunlight!

Thanks!
