Looks like it's going to be players under contract right now, and teams can't trade for a player and amnesty him.

Thus, the Kings probably hold onto this as Salmons insurance and might not ever use it. They could use it on Garcia next summer, but that would depend upon how the team option works under amnsety. If the Kings are forced to pick between paying 12 to only get six of the cap, not going to happen. Probably not how it works, but who knows at this point.

There will be a window to use it, which isn't a very long window at that. If you don't use it then, then you need to wait until the next off season. Can use it on any player currently under contract as of 7/1. Larrydavid is right in that you can't trade for a player currently under contract, and then amnesty him.

Our only realistic options are Garcia and Salmons. Could definitely see us using it next summer to free up cap space for a larger FA class.

yep see how johhny settles this season and amnesty him if it doesnt work out. Obviously GP and PW are huge fans of him having traded for him but if it doesnt work out its good to see we can get off here
