Yes. Gargamel broke it over in the NBA forum.

Is that the same Gargamel who is in REAL danger of running into a toxic cloud of POOF dust if he:
a. continues to have THAT avatar.
b. continues to refer to himself in the third person.
c. all of the above

Actually 6 months in the same house is all you need for common law marrige to be recognized in the U.S. I did it so i could get insurance on my then girlfriend and her children who didn't have any. We then got married 5 months later.

Good thing is that I do not have any power whatsoever because point "a" would ban him for life without any discussion

Heuge thinks point "b" is pretty toxic too.

Common law marriage is subject to different interpretation in each of the 50 states. In fact, it is NOT recognized in California.

Eleven states and the District of Columbia currently recognize common-law marriages. Each of these jurisdictions has unique requirements for common-law marriage:

Alabama: The requirements for a common-law marriage are: (1) capacity; (2) an agreement to be husband and wife; and (3) consummation of the marital relationship.

Colorado: A common-law marriage may be established by proving cohabitation and a reputation of being married.

District of Columbia: The requirements for a common-law marriage are: (1) an express, present intent to be married and (2) cohabitation.

Iowa: The requirements for a common-law marriage are: (1) intent and agreement to be married; (2) continuous cohabitation; and (3) public declarations that the parties are husband and wife.

Kansas: For a man and woman to form a common-law marriage, they must: (1) have the mental capacity to marry; (2) agree to be married at the present time; and (3) represent to the public that they are married.

Montana: The requirements for a common-law marriage are: (1) capacity to consent to the marriage; (2) an agreement to be married; (3) cohabitation; and (4) a reputation of being married.

Oklahoma: To establish a common-law marriage, a man and woman must (1) be competent; (2) agree to enter into a marriage relationship; and (3) cohabit.

Pennsylvania: A common-law marriage may be established if a man and woman exchange words that indicate that they intend to be married at the present time.

Rhode Island: The requirements for a common-law marriage are: (1) serious intent to be married and (2) conduct that leads to a reasonable belief in the community that the man and woman are married.

South Carolina: A common-law marriage is established if a man and woman intend for others to believe they are married.

Texas: A man and woman who want to establish a common-law marriage must sign a form provided by the county clerk. In addition, they must (1) agree to be married, (2) cohabit, and (3) represent to others that they are married.

Utah: For a common-law marriage, a man and woman must (1) be capable of giving consent and getting married; (2) cohabit; and (3) have a reputation of being husband and wife.

New Hampshire recognizes common law marriages only for the purposes of inheritance. In any other state the only marriage that is recognized as valid is an official one. However, if you enter into common law marriage while living in one of the states that permits them, and then move to a state that doesn't, the new state should recognize your marriage as being legally entered into in the other state.

Another thing to consider is that it takes more than just living together to have a common law marriage. Not every couple that lives together intends to be married. The intention to be married is one of the required elements to create a common law marriage. Another element that is necessary to create a common law marriage is that the couple must present themselves as married to others. This means referring to each other as the other's husband or wife, using the same last name, filing joint tax returns, and things of that nature.

a. Oh, that was the most horrible slander in the history of carbon lifeforms.
b. Gargamel only cares about the striking beauty, the fragile delicateness, the ferocious power, the cosmic pagentry that is this game.
c. Did you see Steve Nash bounce the ball off of his head for Amare to throw it down?! That was the greatest bounce pass off the head for the dunk in the history of all levels of basketball.

InsideHoops.com hears that the Utah Jazz are definitely listening to trade offers for Carlos Boozer. We don't know to what extent he is or isn't being shopped, though. We'll leave it to the Utah guys to find that out. Or, Los Angeles guys, since the talks appear to involve the Lakers, possibly Caron Butler and a few other players, or Lamar Odom. Also, word is going around that Sacramento is listening to offers for Peja Stojakovic that could also involve the Lakers or Jazz. Another unconfirmed rumor is that Andrei Kirilenko may also be involved in talks. No InsideHoops.com sources have confirmed this." InsideHoops.com

a. Gargamel had better have a very good gas mask on hand and within reach.
b. Don't make me consider alternative but equally drastic actions.
c. One has to wonder if Amare should get MORE credit for handling the ball after it bounced off Nash's head OR if he should be disqualified for using a ball with a foreign substance added to it that could effect weight, spin, etc.

InsideHoops isn't going to break any hot news from the sports world. None, zero, zilch. You can take that to the bank.

;)

Well we have talked for hours about the odom deal. that was just a rumor. So since AK is just a rumor as well why not run with it.

dang....if we get AK47(not the gun) that'd be the steal of a lifetime!

well it depends still on who we'd have to give up though.

;)

Does nobody in this forum know Petrie personally. Geez that is all this forum needs is an inside guy that banishes all rumors or solidifies them. Then we would have to rely on the rumormills. Can we trade Gargamel for Petrie's assistant or something.

no matter how many rumors go around, when has petrie made a deal that we knew about beforehand. mobley, miller, bibby... got everyone by surprise

Kingsgurl and I walked out to the parking lot next to Mr. and Mrs. Petrie after a game. Does that count??

I might be very wrong here but this would look like a building of the "triangle offense" - and we know who is behind it too.
