All Star Rumor: Lamar Odom for Peja and Bobby Jackson

Theres no way I would give up Peja & B Jax just for Odom, I meen think about that Peja is just as good as Odom at his best even better, plus throwing in B Jax, they would have to give us Mihm & a pick to make this deal go, I'm not sure if thsoe salaries work though.
Peja is useless when his shots arnt going in... he cant create his own shots, he cant rebound, hes lost a step in his D, and he doesnt hussle... Bobby Jackson i like , but where has he been the last 2 seasons ? Always hurt... besides he wants to leave to become a starter somewhere else... as for Odom, can shoot 3's, can break down a defender, can rebound, play D , post up, and pass the ball around.... this is a very good trade...

I suppose with Vlade in Los Angeles, rumors like this might gain some strength.

I would'nt want to see the Kings face the Lakers with Peja, Bobby, and Kobe firing away at us.

I think the trade would be too risky for Sacramento. Maybe the Eastern Conference.

That's exactly what I was thinking...If this "rumor" is true( which I hope it's not) I hope we do not face kobe, peja and co. in the play-offs!

I would. The way Bobby shot before he got hurt i would give him any shot he wanted at 27% from the field. Also don't worry about Peja. Webber and Miller would not be there to set the picks he needs to score. I don't think LA has the Big men for Peja to flourish.

Finally some good resoning. I like Odom, and Kings would do really well with his 10.3 rpg's right now. But let's look at what we give up and to whome. LAL would be championship material with one more FA signing in the next offseason and a real coach.

I agree. I hope this trade don't happen though. Don't think it will cause if it did, it would have.

i knew there would be a thread on this when i got to the site...once i heard DA report it im like "well someone is typing up a thread as I speak"

its rumor...both the Lakers and the Kings denied any talkings...so only time will tell...

If we did have to face Peja in the playoffs, I have no doubt the Kings could really get into his head.

That said, I certainly hope we don't start putting the cart too far in front of the horse. It's not a done deal; it's a rumor.

What I really hope I DON'T see is people starting to bash Pedja because he might, in fact, end up somewhere else. Don't ever underestimate what Pedja Stojakovic has brought to the team and meant to this franchise.

Just my three cents...and a fervent wish that we can remain civil about all this.

:)

Everybody just remember. Peja wants out of Sacramento. He does not want to be a king. The only reason he is playing is so his value wont decrease so he can get paid when his contract is up. I don't know about the rest of you but i am not comfortable going into the playoffs knowing Peja's history in the playoffs when he DID want to be on the team. How much can we expect from him this year?

Can You imagine what kind of motivation those 2 would have to play against the Kings ? Career high potential. Add mr. arrogant who always plays us good and we would be in trouble.

I would not want to see Mike trying to defend Bobby one on one. Considering a interior defense which Odom would not change since he would be forced to stay on perimeter - Bobby would have a lay up all night.

And finally, You would have 3 guys playing against You who know Your stuff as good as You do and better than some players on your own team. How quickly can You adjust ? (rethorical)

I have very hard time imagining GP doing it unless he is running out of options with Pedja wanting out.

4 more days till this garbage is over one way or the other.

Me too... i dont want a guy starting for the kings if he doesnt want to be here.. more of a risk than reward...

I am not Geoff Petrie (who I heard is in Europe right now) nor would I pretend to know what goes on in his head but I wouldn't do this trade. But then again I just don't care too much for Odom.

How would that be different than any other point guard that plays against us. Basically i just don't think Peja has his whole heart with the Kings. And if you don't have every player wholeheartedly playing, than you will not win a championship. Peja seems to be going through the motions this season. We all see it just some of us don't want to believe it.

A side note to all of this is: Eddie house is not the backup point guard i want going into the playoffs either. So if this trade ifact happens maybe we have a backup pg coming in as well from somewhere else that is on the down low right now.

Entity - You have one opinion about why Pedja is playing the way he is. There are others, and they are equally valid since NONE of us really knows the truth.

I think you do Pedja a disservice by making the above assumptions sound as though they're fact. The only fact that we don't know the facts.

Let's try and remain objective, okay?

Our biggest knock is rebounding. of course sometimes we get the lack of defense lable but that conencides with rebounding, you get more rebounds the other team gets less chances therefore they score less points. So this trade would increase that possibility. I am not sure how Odom is on defense but, he did a damn good job with Miami last year. Being on a team with Kobe will bring your numbers down in all areas.

Ah, but the reverse would also be true. We would be playing against a team where we KNOW two of their players really well. I'm not saying three for the simple reason there is absolutely no way to tell at this point if Vlade is going to ever step on the court again...in a Lakers uniform or any other kind.

Hmmm... Kobe Just mentioned Peja(along with others) in his postgame quotes as one of the great perimiter players on the West team in All-star games past...

The FACT is he said he wanted out. I can understand if you just got to a team and aren't happy in the beginning. But when somebody has been on a team a while and says he wants out. Guess what FACT is he really wants out. its not an assumption that he wants out. The only thing that has changed since this summer is the season has started. I garuntee if asked he would say the same thing he did in August.

Lakers get: Peja and Bobby Jackson.
Kings get: Lamar Odom and Tierre Brown.
Lakers get: Carlos Boozer and a pick.
Utah get: Caron Butler, Devean George, and Vlade Divac*.
Vlade is supposed to have his contract bought out for 2 mil, and then he's supposed to resign with LA for the vet minimum.

A buddy of mine just sent that to me.

This is my nightmare.

Odom is having one of his best years. Peja is having a subpar year. On paper it gives the Kings a post scorer/defender who can also play on the perimeter. Odom is almost a double digit rebounder also. Not a great outside shooter, but gets to the rim and can run the floor.

Can or will Peja turn things around for the second half of the season? How would Odom affect team chemistry?

I won't lie, I would love to see one guy on the Kings who can actually jump off the floor and grab a rebound in a crowd.

However, my new Peja jersey...well...it's not a done deal nu any means!;)

Is that the final trade of something?

How can you guarantee it? Do you have insider knowledge out there on the East coast none of us are privy to?

The FACT is Webber almost didn't get off the plane. He told his dad he wouldn't play here. That was a FACT when it happened and subsequent events overturned that fact.

You simply DO NOT KNOW what Pedja is thinking now. Neither do I. Past facts are not necessarily indications of present facts.

All I'm trying to say is that you could be right OR you could be way off about what he's thinking, what he wants to do, etc. The FACT is we may never know the whole story one way or the other.

Lakers get Pedja, Bobby AND Carlos Boozer?! Ok, I don't want to see that happen. Lakers will be a way much better team than they are right now. I just want Lakers to be the same as they are right now. :D
