All-Star
Press Release - Defending champion Quentin Richardson of the New York Knicks will highlight the star-studded field of six in the Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout, to be held on NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by AOL, Feb.18 at the Toyota Center in Houston.

In the event’s 20th year, Richardson will compete against five of the NBA’s top three-point shooters including Seattle’s Ray Allen, who won the competition in 2001, DallasDirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry, Detroit’s Chauncey Billups and Phoenix’s Raja Bell.

Looks decent, not as excited as past times, but I hope Billups wins it. I think it comes down to Chauncey/Ray.

Andres Nocioni, despite leading or being in the top three of 3PT% for the season, declined. I can understand why though.

I think I read a quote somewhere where Nocioni said he wasn't good enough to be with the All-Stars.

If true, humble dude.

Maybe he was reminded of a certain Antoine Walker performance in the contest. :p

I think Ray Allen is the clear favorite.

yucko, i can't stand most of those guys

i hope billups wins it.

i hope moose boy goes down in flames, as well as the whiny pants ray allen.

It's fun to see that even though its a shooting contest, the players that are participating have more star power then in recent years.

My Picks:

1. Chauncey Billups
2. Ray Allen
3. Dirk Nowitzki

Q-Rich is gonna have a hard time repeating as champ IMO.

Should be the best part of the All-Star festivities. Lotta good 3 pt shooters there. I don't really like any of them, but if I was a better, my money would be on Allen.

Ray Allen is going to be one of the finalists, that's for sure.

I had completely forgotten that Quentin Richardson won it last season. There's no way he repeats.

Wish they would stop putting mainly scrubs in the Dunk Contest as well.

I do like this though. Go Allen!

Hope you don't mean the dunk contest this year. No scrubs there, in, Josh Smith/Iguodala/Nate Robinson/Warrick. All four are proven dunkers and athletes, and aren't just that. For Warrick, won't just be that. Already showing some flashes of that, for anyone who follows the Grizz.

Keep dreaming to anyone who wants LeBron in it. ;)

Ray V Dirk in the Finals.

Perfect form versus quick release.

Billups is a streaky shooter, and embarrassed himself last time.

Jason Terry? Raja Bell? Wow, I need NBALP fast.

Indeed. I would still love to see Peja do it, to get that third one and be with Bird and Hodges. Two is still great though.

go Raja bell! dont think he will win though o well go Bell!

Yeah, I think Raja is an underrated choice to win it, but I still think Billlups, Ray Allen, and Raja are going to make the last round.

Ouch, I wanted Raja in but hey, Arenas is also a GREAT 3 point player as well. I think now the top 3 are Ray Allen, Billups, and Arenas.

Arenas is a great 3 point shooter. During the katrina relief game last summer I think, he was hitting 3s and he hit like a 40 footer(TMac hit two).

Wasn't that great tonight ;). He's not really a "shooter" anyways, similar for Billups.

I'd say Ray becomes a 2-time 3PT contest champ. Don't see Dirk or Arenas beating him. Billups I thought would do some better.

Props to Reggie for mentioning Peja a couple times.

edit: Okay, Dirk won, lol

Props to Dirk. Either they have really strong sound filters on, or the Houston crowd wasn't very appreciative.

This years contest sucked. Looked like it would too. Didn't have any excitement or drama, and most importantly, "shooters".
