Ailene Voisin's column on Coach Whiz

I totally agree with Ailene. I don't see Whiz out there like last year. He mostly sits and watches what is happening. Like he hasn't the energy to do anything about it. Maybe it's different with girls, but I think they rely totally on his moods and energy. Last year he really was their coach - this year he's a man that suggests the next strategy.

I'm that way - if my boss is having a down day, I'm not nearly as productive as could be, because I sense his mood is not good. And yes, I'm a professional, too, and I work around it, but it is still there. I think Mr. Whiz could be more of a Coach. I think the girls need him to perk up, to be a leader.

I liked the article. There is some truth there. It seems the M's need their leader. I just want to see him mix up the offense some. They are like an open book. Anyone could defend what they are throwing out there. He also better do something about the defense of the perimeter.....there is none.

There really never has been any perimeter defense in his scheme - when they aren't defending anywhere else that just becomes more prominent...that only will hurt them if someone goes completely unconscious from there like Mabika did a week ago and when they aren't scoring themselves
