If the Player's Union agrees to it, I don't see why fans shouldn't. There is already an age limit on the draft, which people tend to forget. Otherwise, Bron could've dropped out and been taken no later than 3rd in 2002.
I have no problems with it. I miss the days when rookies came into the league as men and were able to contribute and be trusted with starting roles. Back before the late 80s, about 95% of players went thru 4 years of college. Bird was drafted and decided to go back for a 5th year of eligibility. As good as the high schoolers have been in recent years, both college ball and the league would've been greater served if they waited at least 2 years.

1. Proposal for making developmental league into a real minor league would make sure that noone enters NBA too early. Darko Milicic's of this World would get a chance to compete and learn instead of rotting on the bench.
Darko could have learned overseas had he opted to stay in Europe for extra few years before coming here. Sure, he cashed in and secured his future but his talent and potential are being wasted and in the long run he will lose much more than he has gained.
How come nobody is giving details. I can't come up with any remotely legitimate reasoning. Those who can aren't saying what that is.bozzwell said:I think that I can guess what he meant by his statements, but it still bothers ne that he's making such a strong accusation without proper explanation. If I were to accuse someone or some organization of being xenophobic, I would make sure that I explained my grievances well. Then again, maybe he did, but it didn't make it through the wire services as it would defuse the explosiveness of his statement.

All the current examples you choose went to two years of college or less.Fillmoe said:hold up! i think some of the younger players got a better head on their shoulders than some of the older/veterans............
How many times do you hear Lebron, Josh Smith, Shaun Livingston, Melo in the news for saying something stupid?
Now how many times do you hear Iverson, Artest, Kobe, Sprewell say or do something stupid?
Age has nothing to do with immaturity!

3. What happens to NCAA basketball should not concern NBA and NBA PA. NBA is in basketball business and last I checked colleges were in the education business.

But even then, it doesn't make any sense. I make a distinction between legitimate reasoning and correct reasoning. A legitimate viewpoint can be argued and backed up with evidence, even if there is other evidence that can refute it. I'm just having a hard time seeing how it would even disproportionally affect African-Americans in any way beyond the natural affects any change to NBA baskteball would have due to the league's racial makeup.bozzwell said:I did not say that he has legit reasons. I just said that I can guess what his thinking would be. I guess that his thinking would be that an age limit would disproportionally affect young African-Americans - and I accept that that line of thinking can be explored. And that is exactly why I said that when you make such a statement publicly, you better back it up with some sort of reasoning or explanation of why is it that you feel/think that way. Leave nothing to media speculation.
