(Note: Most of my comments/thoughts are going to sound and feel like an old tune, but I figured I'd post it regardless)
While there is a lot more to be desired (let me be perfectly honest with you here, every team, every fan, every player, every GM, every owner, every coach wants to win the championship...No one can ever deny that simple fact) than just a first round exit against the defending world champions, any reasonable (and true) Kings fan out there can't look at this season and feel a sense of disappointment. We just can't. Disappointment was not making the postseason since 2006. Disappointment was coming into every season with a lot of hope, only to see that hope evaporate before December, or the All Star break. Disappointment was almost having our team taken away from us from an ownership who allowed greed to overtake pride.
This season was different. It was fun. It was exciting. It gave us hope. It gave us light. Light at the end of a tunnel that, since 2006, was the darkest it has ever been.
I will be honest here, this season almost made me tear up at times. Not tear up due to sadness and grief. But tear up due to pride and joy.
Being one of the many Kings fans who lives outside of the greater Sacramento area, my ability to watch Kings games is very limited, so I was ONLY able to watch two regular season games...TWO. I'll be honest with you, I didn't know what to expect heading into our TNT matchup against the Nets. But I did know that I would enjoy the game, regardless of the end result. Probably one of the best games I've watched in a long time???? That was fun. Like many others, on this forum and not on this forum, I was kind of waiting for the team to level out, and come back down to earth at some point after their hot start. Little did I, along with those "many others", know that the team had already leveled out, and what we saw was what we were going to get.
Updating my Excel workbook of regular season and postseason records was fun this season (oh, how the little things in life make one happy). Especially towards the end of the regular season, when I was able to update the workbook to indicate the Kings' postseason appearance. I felt a sense of pride and joy as I made the adjustments. I may have also teared up. That was probably one of the many things in my life that kept me going....Opening that workbook and seeing the losing seasons right before my very own eyes. It kind of, in a weird little way, gave me hope that, one day, these losing records will turn into winning records.
I can't post this comment without extending a handful of thank you messages...So, here I go (in no particular order)...
Kevin Johnson...THANK YOU for saving OUR Kings.
Vivek Ranadive...THANK YOU for purchasing OUR Kings. And for keeping OUR Kings HOME. And for being the driving force behind the construction of our incredible new downtown HOME.
Various individuals...THANK YOU for fighting in order to keep OUR Kings HOME. (You know who you are. We know who you are. I am not going to list out all of the names here, as this list would be endless).

Michael Burton Brown...THANK YOU, coach. For coming here to coach OUR Kings. For your leadership and guidance.

And finally, THANK YOU KINGSFANS.COM members. For showing up and supporting OUR team EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. And for welcoming me to this great forum with open arms on February 23, 2022.
Mods...Thank you for keeping this forum going, and for making it into the forum that it currently is.
@Tetsujin...Thank you for jump starting the game threads...While I took the responsibility of jumping in for you when you weren't able to, this task very much so still belongs to you, and will continue to belong to you.
And, to borrow the words of one of this forum's beloved, who continues to look down on us, and take care of us as much as she did when she was still with us...
I LOVE THIS TEAM!!!
