Mister Slim Says: Twenty-two more games of this.

I won't deign to call this a tank-off, since I don't think that the Mavericks can catch the Kings, anyway, but it definitely doesn't look like either team is putting its best foot forward tonight... Actually, I've still got some stuff to do this afternoon, so I'm keeping this short.

Get well soon, Keegan.

Keep playing the kids.

I love the Grimm brothers' fairy tales. You might have included "The Ugly Duckling" by Hans Christian Andersen. If you added ballets, my favorite by far would be Swan Lake by Tchiakowsky.

Russ also out for tonight’s game and Malik is questionable so the Kings may actually be down to a healthy eight/nine man roster

No real feelings towards the poll options so went with Pied Piper as a shoutout to Silicon Valley, even though I’m pretty sure the story is about luring children.

I go with Little Red Riding Hood because I love the Sam Sham and the Pharaohs song. But otherwise probably Oz.

Precious is great and all but hopefully Baldwin Jr. gets major minutes tonight.

As for Hayes, I was thinking about the Kings cap situation, can the Kings even sign him for the rest of the season or would they go over the luxury tax? According to spotrac they are under a million from hitting it after this 10 day. I don't know what the prorated amount would be, but it would have to be tight.

I'm pretty sure that the contract would be prorated by how much of the season is left (45 days). My first calculation (45 days remaining of 173, $2.3M minimum) would suggest that his salary would be just under $600K for a rest-of-season contract, leaving the Kings plenty of space (tax space estimated to be $936K).
