They didn't have American-style pizza when I was stationed in Italy, unless you count the slop they served at the spot on base, so my go-to out in town was sour cream and mushroom pizza. My preferred American-style pizza is supreme but, if I can't get that, my go-to toppings are pepperoni, mushroom and pineapple, either individually, or any permutation thereof.As someone of Italian-American background, I have opinions re: pizza and its toppings. That said, I'm honestly not much of a traditionalist, and if I were to set aside the classic Margherita to give a more adventurous answer... I actually adore Indian pizza. A chicken tikka masala riff on pizza is just, topped with cilantro and red onion.
