All-Star
Atlanta Gets:
Tyreke Evans
Nikola Mirotic
Ben McLemore

Atlanta Gives:
Al Horford
Thabo Sefolosha
Kent Bazemore

Why for Atlanta?
Atlanta has been rumored that they are going to be moving on from their current core. Their moving good players, but both Horford and Bazemore are UFAs next season. In the meantime, they get some young assets (26, 24, & 22) who are on good deals that can help them build towards the future.

Once Teague is traded (also rumored), the Hawks can move forward with a Schroder/McLemore/Evans backcourt rotation with Holiday & Hardaway battling it out for spot minutes.

Mirotic fits nicely behind Millsap and still gives them a solid 3 big rotation (Millsap/Splitter/Mirotic)

PG - Teague/Schroder/Mack
SG - McLemore/Evans/Holiday/Patterson
SF - Korver/Hardaway
PF - Millsap/Mirotic/Scott
C - Splitter/Muscala/Tavares

-----------------------------------------------------------

Chicago Gets:
Darren Collison
Kings 2016 1st (top 5 protected)

Chicago Gives:
Nikola Mirotic
Kirk Hinrich

Why for Chicago?
Portis has come on strong and they are looking to free up more minutes for him. Moving Mirotic (instead of Gibson) allows them to still play a mobile, defensive big next to Gasol in the starting rotation with Portis coming off the bench. In the meantime, they strengthen their backup PG position in case Rose goes down with an injury still giving them a shot to go far in the playoffs.

They also get the protection lowered on the pick making sure the pick transfers this year.

PG - Rose/Collison/Brooks
SG - Butler/Snell/Moore
SF - Dunleavy/McDermott
PF - Gibson/Portis/Bairstow
C - Gasol/Noah/Felicio

-----------------------------------------------------------

New Orleans Gets:
Rudy Gay

New Orleans Gives:

Tyreke Evans

Why for New Orleans?
The Pelicans have a lot of good guards. Even after moving Evans, they still have Holiday, Gordon, & Cole as their main guard rotation. By moving Evans, for Gay. They sure up their SF spot and give themselves another secondary scorer that can play off Davis.

PG - Holiday/Cole/Douglas
SG - Gordon/Gee/Dejean-Jones/Pondexter
SF - Gay/Cunningham/Babbit
PF - Davis/Anderson
C - Asik/Ajinca/Perkins

-----------------------------------------------------------

Sacramento Gets:
Al Horford
Thabo Sefolosha
Kent Bazemore
Kirk Hinrich

Sacramento Gives:
Rudy Gay
Darren Collison
Ben McLemore
Kings 2016 1st (top 5 protected)

Why for Sacramento?
Defense has been the biggest issue with the Kings by far. This trade seriously upgrades the defensive personnel. It's risky as 3 of the 4 players acquired are expirings (no guarantees they'll be back next season), but playing here for half a season may persuade some of these players to resign. If worse comes to worst, it would give us more cap space during a year that has many players that compliment Cousins' skillset.

As for the team this year, a Horford/Cousins frontcourt would be the best in the league by far. Any team that wants to go small against us will have to pick their poison in the post. The defense & rim protection between those two would be great, and both can hit a jumper from outside giving the other more room to operate. I could see a lot of high/low action between the two considering both are capable passers. There's a lot to like about this tandem. Then you have Cauley-Stein as your first big off the bench to bring energy, hustle, and defense. Not to mention, you have Koufos on your bench as the 4th big in case of injuries, foul trouble, matchups, etc.

Then you have Bazemore & Sefolosha locking down the perimeter defensively while looking to play off Rondo/Horford/Cousins and spread the floor.

PG - Rondo (36 min)/Hinrich (12 min)/Curry
SG - Bazemore (30min)/Belinelli (12 min)/Sefolosha (6 min)Anderson
SF - Sefolosha (20 min)/Casspi (28 min)/Butler
PF - Horford (22 min)/Cauley-Stein (26 min)/Acy/Moreland
C - Cousins (36 min)/Horford (12 min)Koufos

Cousins - 36 min
Rondo - 36 min
Horford - 34 min
Bazemore - 30 min
Casspi - 28 min
Sefolosha - 26 min
Cauley-Stein - 26 min
Hinrich - 12 min
Belinelli - 12 min

Could this team turn it around and make the playoffs this year? They are definitely talented enough and have plenty of good defenders. However, we're in a decent size hole after our recent skid. This team would have to go on a tear/run to make the playoffs.

Is trading for 3 expiring players in the hopes that you can make a playoff push/convince them that Sacramento is a good place to play worth giving up the assets listed? I'm not sure, but it's an interesting conversation.
