GRISSOM JUST WON THE GAME!!!

Lowry pitched incredible but we have NO relief pitching at all. We were up 6-0 going into the 7th and went into the 8th down 8-6. Scored one in the 8th and had a man on 3rd and 1st with no outs and Grissom at the plate. Good bye- walk off home run!

This has been an incredible two games. When many thought it may have been over we comeback and win both of them... and nothing better than a Grand Slam to top it off.

8th Inning... down 1-0... Top of the order... Durham flies/grounds out and then Vizquel is walked. Snow flies/grounds out as well so its Vizquel on 1st with two outs... Most thinking "well we better win in the 9th beacuse this inning is over"...Wrong.
Feliz proceeds in getting a hit and Alfonzo gets walked to load the bases with 2 outs... big turn of events considering the inning looked dead and I believe Alfonzo was down in the count 0-2 and came all the way back but im not sure. Tucker comes to the plate and first pitch fastball... splash hit into mcovey cove GRAND SLAM! (Tuckers 1st career grand slam).

I wasnt watching the TV but had the volume on high and as soon as you heared both broadcasters saying "this one is hit high, hit deep... GRAND SLAM" I came running to the TV and saw it right before it hit the water...

GO GIANTS!

Glad there are some other Giants fans on the board... now during the Kings offseason we can have something else to talk about.
Well, I must admit that I have allegiance to 2 teams. I was born and raised in Cubs country, and like other Cubs fans, once a fan, always a fan.

Then I lived in Sacramento for 23 years (the majority of my adult life). I became a Giants fan full time (even though I loved them from the Willie Mays/Bobby Bonds days.).

Now, I am back in Cubs country (with every intent to return to Sacramento, as soon as I line up a job). It has rekindled my love of the Cubs (although it never left...they just became my #2 team).

So, all of that is just to say that my #1 team is the San Francisco Giants and my #2 team is the Chicago Cubs. :)

WOOO HOO!!!!!!!! GRISSOM!!!!!!!!! TUCKER!!!!!!!!

GREAT starts by the youngsters, but our EMBARASSING bully nearly killed me. luckily the rockies pen is even worse. our O looked pretty bad today early on, but TUCKER!!!!!!!!! that was freaking awesome. too bad i had to listen to a BRUTAL call by greg papa. at least the night before i got to hear kuiper with a fantastic as always call.

tommorrow my man schmidt is going WOO!! he's my fav giant ( along with JT) so i'm expecting a good game out of him. i'll be flipping back and forth between the kigns game. you don't know how painful tommorrow is going to be for me, my fav pitcher on one channel, and the kings and lakers on the other channel WHY!!!!!!!!! why can't one of the games be a night game :D

GO GIANTS!

Awesome game today...But our bullpen is looking pretty lame everywhere except for Benitez. I hope they return to last years form, but other than that keep up the good work G-men!

Actually, I'm hoping for better than last years form because last year the bullpen wasn't really all that good. Brower was great last year but beyond that...blah. We had Herges and Franklin with eras well over 5.00, and a rookie in Walker that did really well considering that much of the workload was thrown on him...I'm crossing my fingers for a good year out of the pen...

Go Giants!

me too. i didn't wan't to talk about jello pudding and kobe bryant all summer. here's an interesting question, when barry bonds comes back, what position could pedro feliz play everyday?

i agree on the bullpen. man they have looked like dog crap outside of benitez. just AWFUL. i suspect al levine will be called up veyr soon if things don't improve ( he had a scoreless spring) they will get better over time.

as for pedro when bonds gets back, i think it'll go back to that 3 way platoon from last year of snow, alfonzo and pedro between first and 3rd. he's a great weapon coming off the bench with his power. i hope ellison's PT isn't effected since he's our best OF defender, those young legs are going to be needed big time during the dog days of summer.

Yeah, I really think I could have chosen my wording a bit better, but point being, just get better....And soon.

Just wait till we get Bonds and Alou back... With those two in the lineup I think we may be the favorite for the NL to reach the World Series, if we can improve the bullpen....

This is the year the Giants expect to make the WS and they have made the trades and pickups in order to do just that so I have faith and hope they can get Bond's his WS ring before he leaves in a couple years.

I agree, completley. Before the season started, I called the Giants to win the NL. Once healthy, they have the offence, they have the starting pitching, we just need our bullpen to pull through, which I believe they can do.

GO GIANTS!

It just looks like an easy road in the NL this year.

St. Louis off to a bad start and surely arent the team from last year and they are probably crushed by the WS loss.

Houston may be the favorite in the NL Central unless someone else like St. Louis or the Cubs can challenge them, or even Milwaukee who are 4-2.

Braves off to a good start and I wouldnt count them out of the divison crown after what they have done for the past 13 years?... whatever it is its a long time... Although the Mets may catch fire and play up to expectations and make the playoffs after their 0-5 start.

Right now I would go with the Giants, Houston and the Braves to win their divisions unless some other teams show some true dominance and step up. We can re-visit this scenario in a couple weeks and see how things go.

But as for now the Giants look good, and as mentioned during the broadcasts, a lot of the giants like Alfonzo have dropped weight over the offseason which has improved their swing and speed, etc. I think this organization said something to the Giants over the offseason that basicly said "This is our year, get in shape and win us a ring" and they surely look like they have bought into it. When Bonds and Alou come back... if Bonds can hit 40+ hrs and drive in around 90-100 and not get walked so much and if Alou can hit around 35-40 hrs like last year and drive in 80-110 with the opportunity he will have with RISP we will do just fine.
