3rd qtr. woes

Everything goes wrong. We can't pass, score or defend. Everyone looks lost and all they do is turn the ball over and foul. It happens everytime the opposing team tightens their defense and plays aggressively on offense. I understand teams make runs/pushes but Kings let this happen for a whole quarter of basketball. How does Coach/Players/GM do a better job at stopping an opposing teams runs/pushes?

It would seem that they come out in the 3rd quarter with a lack of focus. I don't understand because the coach just got them focused at the half, so there is no reason for a lack of focus...It's like they are ignoring the coach to the point where clear concise coaching isn't getting through. Then wake up in the 4th quarter again in a dog fight to either catch up or to maintain lead to win. Lately it's been waking to a big lead and making a comeback in the late 3rd early 4th quarter to no avail. If the coach is going to get wins out of this team he needs to win their hearts and minds at the half, an make a stand there! There is plenty of time to focus during the halftime, and the Kings should not lose focus just because of halftime. Halftime should have nothing to do with how the Kings play basketball other than giving the team rest and regroup for the second half. Focus should be kept throughout the whole game not just a half. Focus should additionally be at it's strongest at the beginning of games and at halftime, and so we should not lose focus ever during the game. The whole game is important, not just the first half. We may need to bring in the sports psychologists to deal with the Jeckel and Hyde team the Kings have become.

I think that Jason Thompson is not living in the real world but in fantasy land. Much like Donte Greene last year, Jason is living a fantasy life of video games and Youtube fun, but he isn't putting in the work nor the time to build the mental aspect of the game in his mind so that he can compete. He needs to work on his game badly, because his offensive fouls are of the horrible nature and unnecessary turnovers. He has reverted to all his bad habits of last season without even thinking about it. He is fouling pretty much every time he plays defense, which gets called at the most critical times in the game. He can play good defense if he sets his mind to it, but lately he is just reaching and fouling instead of moving his feet and doing the work early to prevent layups and fouls in the paint. Then he compounds the problem by complaining to the refs about the good calls they make, which pisses the refs off no end. He needs to shut up, focus in both halves of a game, and start taking ownership of his lousy play, not blame the refs that are innocent.
