[OBIT] 2025 Gone But Not Forgotten

Pancreatic cancer apparently runs in my bio dad's family: in the last sixteen years, five of my aunts and uncles (and my grandmother) have either died directly of pancreatic cancer, or had been diagnosed with it at the time of their death.
Oh my Slim. I'm very sorry to hear that.

I was off social media all day, I knew he was gravely ill but after a really good, productive seminar series today I opened facebook and saw the tributes poor in and ... damn. RIP Space Man.

Jimmy Cliff - Reggae Legend - 81

Reggae legend and actor Jimmy Cliff has passed. I loved his voice, thanks for the music. RIP Mr. Cliff.

RIP, Rob.

To me, his ultimate achievement was The Princess Bride, but if I ever had to put together a list of my favorite 100 movies, This Is Spinal Tap and Stand By Me would both have a legit chance to make the cut. A Few Good Men was good, but not on the same level, and I still haven't seen either When Harry Met Sally or Misery (neither of which are exactly up my alley, so I never got around to them). Quite a run he had there, shocking that it started 40 years ago.

Shame. It's his best film. Give it a shot. No rom-com has ever topped it. 👍

RIP Rob.

Had been begging my son to watch Spinal Tap most of the weekend so we could watch the sequel together. Shocking turn of events absolutely mortified. Forgot he did Misery. He looked so alive in the Tap sequel its maddening.

Maybe only peeps of @Mr. S£im Citrus and my vintage will remember Gil Gerard.

Gil Gerard: ‘Buck Rogers in the 25th Century’ Star, Dies at 82

The TV show was a pretty blatant cash in on Star Wars mania but it has roots back to the comic pages in the 20s and even Frank Frazetta drew him in the 50s. Along with a stupid robot sidekick, he was also joined by the lovely Miss Erin Gray. I remember the show being corny but having some really cool toys including this space ship with a camera obscura targeting system that had a red target switch and sound effects. It looked stupid as hell but it was such a cool gimmick. So of course I tried to watch the show all the time with my little ship.

82 years is longer than many close to me made it but still F cancer.
