[NFL] 2025-2026 Thread

Can someone please interpret that for me? I have no clue what that means.

From our friends over at Reddit;

“It took me a lil while to decode but...He is saying:

“I’m on another level, driving an Escalade V. Even though it’s bulletproof, I still stay aware of my surroundings. On my wrist is a Patek Philippe that costs Richard Mille money."”

Guy knows most of his contract got voided right?

Officially the 49ers have a 1% chance of missing the playoffs. They need to win 1 remaining game or have the Detroit Lions lose 1 remaining game to secure the berth.

Neither the Bucs nor definitely not the Panthers (who the 49ers had the tiebreaker on anyway) have a shot at a wildcard position. This is the pansy-a$$ division winner scenario that happens every so often (remember the 8-8 Chargers getting in over a 10-6 Patriots team on Brady injury year?) that the league should scrap and follow something like the old NBA with straight records by conference.

This only works in the NBA because the season is long enough to where enough games are played to judge a team's true potential. The issue with going away with the whole idea that the division winner gets one of the top 4 seeds in the playoffs is that the season is so short, and a late season injury can very well be the difference between winning the division with 10+ wins, or winning it with 7 or 8 wins.

If teams played more games, I can support going away with division winners automatically making the playoffs, and seeding playoffs based on top 7 teams overall. But because the NFL season is so short relatively speaking, I don't know how I feel about this, and I am not sure if there will be enough support league-wide.

Chalked up as the largest game of the regular season, tomor

I'd say tough luck - suck-it-up - this is where teams that do their homework on their backup QBs, RBs, Tackles, DEs, LBs, or Kickers on and on .......really any position are to be rewarded and rightfully so. This puts undue weight and emphasis on divisional games, and is clearly unfair rewarding less competitive division winners over more competitive division losers. Easy fail.....

Tomorrow game is chalked as the best regular season game of the season thats right - Lambs@Seachickens - .........a new canned meat......nevermind

Looks like Vegas is divided on the favorite which shows more or less a pickem scenario......but perhaps something like Lambs win 23-21.......I have a hard time pulling for the Seachickens even if it benefits the 49ers small hope of #1 seed - which aint happening anyway, so sticking to the Lambs I think. Although, on 2nd thought I dont like watching another divisional team winning the Superbowl very much so still stuck anyway for now.

Then you risk devaluing any and all division games. If you do that, then what is the point of going out there and playing the games in the first place? I am a huge supporter of giving division winners a top 4 seed, because you're rewarding them for winning the division. If a 5th seed or lower has a better record, why should they get the benefit of the doubt for coming in 2nd in their division, and why should the division winner with a worse record get punished for winning their division?

To me, going to a top 7 overall record only seeding will devalue a lot of what makes the NFL season worth watching and following for the 17/18+ plus weeks that fans are glued to their televisions, radios, computers, phones, and other forms of media.

If you want to go away from rewarding division winners with a top 4 seed in the playoffs, then you add more games to the schedule to give it more meaning.

Ok,,,,Don't agree.....but leave it at that.....

I think the Rams win easily.
hmmm, being in Seattle, I doubt 'easily' though possible......honestly I'd like a Rams to win not liking Seahawks (and their fans) much even if a Seahawks win 'helps' the 49ers.

An astute columnist (forgot which outlet) noted these last 3 weeks will give us the litmus test for the 49ers playoffs perspective........they play 3 above .500 teams - 2 certainly to be in the playoffs. How they look vs these teams will tell us alot as the hostess twinkie and ding-dong season has come to a close for the 49ers with the Titans last week. Want to see Purdy open some f#$R@g field running as I'm sure he's going to be under duress, considering his propensity for mid-level interceptions in his smaller game-sample this season.. I think there's a fairly good chance the 49ers lose out honestly.

As a realistic 49ers fan, I dont think it really matters who the 49ers play, they are not gonna be favored.. This team is not the 2023-2024 49ers team by a big stretch. Think 2nd Rams game this year.

BTW, unbelievably, the 49ers are favored by nearly 7 points @ Indy - crazy....did anyone in Vegas watch last week's Seahawks eeked out win that were 1 defensive F up pass play away from winning by 1 pt? -> and odds makers think the 49ers will do that much better? Colts still have a solid defense - and a top 3 RB in the NFL, and will be absolutely be desperate for a win. A Colts loss will likely eliminate them except for crazy scenarios. I'm surprised by this oddsmaking or in other words, place your bets, ladies and gentlemen ! :)

I'm not surprised that the Niners are the favored. Their defense gets carved up by any average to above average QB. Rivers is a huge question mark right now. If he doesn't at least put up 250yds and 2 TDs, I don't think they have a very good chance. That's a tough ask for a chunky 44 year old that just got off the couch a week ago.

Definitely losing out the last two games and whoever they play in the playoffs outside of the Panthers.

Dont know if Gardner's playing which will make some difference -----I'm not surprised favored, but favored by 7 pts @ Indy? yes.....surprised........the Colts have a decent defense. The 49ers defense are a full step behind Seahawks right now, so 250 yrds and 2 TDs is doable for Rivers, especiallly if they open up Taylor. The only good thing about the 49ers secondary in this game is the DBs are all fairly good on run support. I think their coaches/scouting emphasize that in drafting.
