I think vivek would possibly do it to deflect blame and personal responsibility for this mess.

And pay another coach they allegedly hired Doug cause he came cheap the next one will be cheap too. Next two years will be the same as we rebuild with young players so we fire that new coach after this is stupid

This roster has nothing to do with Doug’s ability or lack thereof. There isn’t a coach alive that could win with the dreck Monte and Perry served Doug.

Usually you’re pretty level headed and look for the brighter side, I’m surprised you’ve jumped on DC as being bad so quickly. I just cannot put this disaster on him.

Eh. I feel pretty confident echoing @The_Jamal 's analysis. Doug's a bad coach. He's polished at the podium and can deliver a Hallmark movie speech with the best of them, but he's all bark. There has been so little correlation between everything that was said in the off-season, everything that's been said since the season began, and the actual product on the court. There's no balance in the rotation, no defense within miles of the opposition, and seemingly no interest in developing the younger talent that might otherwise assist the Kings in correcting their 27th-ranked defensive woes. Elsewhere, there's nothing resembling an offensive system, no cohesion, chemistry, or leadership, and no meaningful effort to implement a corrective gameplan for the odiousness on display. This roster is bad, no doubt, but they're being coached down, rather than coached up.

Christie is obviously in way over his head. At this point the ball is in Perry's court. If he's a mensch he has a presser and says that it is very clear that there must be a radical change in personnel and that he and Christie have agreed to play the youth on this team as much as possible going forward with the idea of developing them for the future; Perry will find homes elsewhere for the veterans. That said, the question is: Are we there yet?

Never thought Kings this season would top all-time debacle bozo Kenny Natt brought forth 2008-09. Did not watch Memphis destroy Sacramento but followed box score for awhile until that became too painful to look at. Kings down 75-47 at half-time was the last disgusted glance. No way DC can remain Kings head coach for much longer. Yes, the hand delt a roster of old rejected nomads and now news Sabonis lost for next month devastating. Seems likely DC will be fired soon since dream Kings magically having "D" identity now compete joke. Does DC want to go down as another Kenny Natt:eek:?? He should resign now, not wait to get official ax instead of having this legacy written for him very sour, unkind way.

The Kings are on an 8-game losing streak in which the average margin of defeat has been 23 points. That's insane, frankly. Yes, they've played the best teams in the conference during that span... but they also just lost to the 4-11 Grizzlies by 41 points while Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. were both out with injury.

I honestly believe that the front office can't go much longer without addressing the need for radical change. I expect real rumblings to pick up by the middle of December, but in the meantime, are the Kings really going to challenge the Pelicans for Worst in the West without a peep from Perry, who used his opening months on the job to add two problem children to a rotation already full to the brim with ill-fitting parts?

I've obviously been a loud voice for lins around these parts, but I also want accountability from this franchise. I want to see that there's a plan. I want to know that they're not looking at this roster and prepping a litany of excuses for why it has bombed so spectacularly thus far, as if there's any excuse good enough for an 8-game losing streak in which the Kings have lost by an average of 23 points.

The cruelest thing out of all this mess, is Harrison Barnes looking significantly more lively and athletic than DeRozan out there LOL with a better 3 point shot (duh) Lord help us

Honestly how did we get so trash so fast? We litteraly only lost one player who isnt even that dam good. Hes litteraly the odd man out in San Antonio. They already hate him.

How did we get so bad so quickly
You can just see the players knew from the start that they either weren’t wanted here (Perry with his thoughts of LaVine) or simply knew and know that they won’t be here for very long. It sucks that some of them may have given up in some way but i don’t think lack of talent is why things are so bad right now. That’s the good and bad news i suppose.

I don’t think we’ll have to wait another 16 seasons to be good or even fun again. Let’s see who gets moved and how

Yeah, but it's still gonna kill your cardio. He wasn't doing 5-on-5, he's probably wasn't running because they wouldn't want to jostle the surgery bits that are healing. Expect a bit of time to get back.
Yeah, i don’t care what the injury is. Players don’t just hop on to the court after weeks away and start looking like themselves again. Unless you’re LeBron or something

Our 4/5 (yes, the whole 48 minutes for four players) combined for FOUR rebounds in a half.

That's...bad. That's really bad. And the only guy on the team that could fix it is out with a torn meniscus.
Poor Sabonis playing through all those damn injuries led to this bigger injury for sure. Monte and the gang never got he and Keegan more help up front so they’ve had to gobble up every rebound just to keep the team in games. There’s much to fix and completely change

LaVine is absolutely garbage I dont care what his % and PPG are this guy is not a winning player on any system or any team. Has the guy had a single chase down block in his career? Any level of actual defense or physicality on him and he quits.

I don't see how not playing the starters will hurt there trade value if anything you are keeping them fresh and not risking injury everyone in the NBA knows that none of DDR, Zac, Schroder will help you win just bench them and wait till teams get desperate. Miami got a decent return for Butler (yes Jimmy is better than all 3 combined) who they benched, if Doug or the GM has any guts they would do that.

The Christie post-game presser was sad, very sad. He basically had nothing of consequence to say. He appeared deflated and defeated, referring to "watching the tape", Walton style, as if some revelation will suddenly appear and lead to a resurrection.

Basing hope on a few snippets of decent play in the overall scheme is not a vision based on reality. He is delusional in thinking that the team's season can be rebuilt on their ability to have a few minutes of near-success on occasion.

His vision for the Kings is gone. Whether it is his doing or a management decision, we can't know. But there is nothing about this team's performances that reflect his public statements.

If Coach Christie is in complete coaching control, then shame on him. If he is being played the puppet, then shame on the organization. The common factor is shame.

If you were an advocate for Lins ….. last night was spectacular. It was like hitting Vivek in the face with a cold dead tuna that his basketball acumen is zero and he should get as far away from basketball ops as possible.

The other part of this is that you simply just can't say "my bad, let's move the vets" publicly if you're ACTUALLY trying to move the vets. Putting up the white flag means the lowball offers will get even lower. There's not a good way out of this publicly. Privately, however, is another matter altogether. But I'm not sure they're really trying to be competitive.

There's nothing out there that leads me to believe that he is not being played the puppet by the darned master puppeteer (Vivek).
You claim that the common factor is shame. I say that the common factor here is Vivek...Shame on Vivek!!!

Also, if you bench the vets, their agents are screaming in your ear to move them now, value be damned. We already saw how that scenario played out last year.

One way or another we will soon see the character of Perry. This team was fragile before the injuries. Now it is a goner with the Sabonis injury. I'd say the pain meter is high enough to give Perry a push to change course, but we really don't know enough about him to know with any certainty. This team is rich in ironies. One rich one is that the veterans would show the youngins how to play. My concern now is that the veterans are showing the youngins how not to play every time they step on the floor. It's very disturbing.

The “scary” thing to consider is that despite the Kings currently being on pace to win 15 games this year, they are only 3 games out of the play in tournament with 66 games left to play.

Who’s to say Vivek doesn’t look at that and want to quadruple down and “go for it?”

Good news, with Domas now hurt, its virtually impossible for us to rifle any serious win streak off.

I think the Kings' situation is very clear to the entire NBA without the Kings saying one word: They are going to move the vets.

F the agents. Based on his performance last night Schroeder should be immediately benched and go in the dog house for a month. Other vets can have their minutes severely reduced, but if they don't play like professionals they too should be benched.
