That is a rookie call if there ever was one. Nique is going to be a decent defender in time, but I'm not sure he's got super high potential on that end. The combine tests kind of tell that story.

Maybe. With a more cohesive roster and better coaching, i think he’ll be a fast learner on that end as well.

His strength will be his calling card. Moving the feet and keeping a quick player in front of him as a POA could be a big ask. If he can switch up consistently, and he might be able to, then he'll be a positive defender in the end.

Here's a thought... Doug could play this all veteran lineup in each first half and then an all young guy lineup for each second half and then we compare stats after a few weeks and play whichever lineup has the best net rating from then on.
