    Congratulations to you all

I admire your passion for your team my friend, and you're right Seattle should work with the NBA. But we feel entitled to a team just like any city of 3.5 million should, in a state of 7 million people. Seattle is a proud city just like Sacramento, only we just see things differently from the...

    Congratulations to you all

Also, I know a lot of you hate Hansen and Ballmer, but at the same time, I believe everything happens for a reason, and in the end Sacramento kept their team, has a great group of owners, got rid of the Maloofs amicably, and eventually will have a new arena. All four things you've all been...

    Congratulations to you all

So in between this big decision, I had an absolutely crazy week at work, going from nearly losing my job to getting promoted within a day or two (office politics). When I first came here few months back I said I wish Seattle had done what KJ did for Sacramento, and its nothing short of admirable...

Monday will be crazy and other news, rumors, etc.

So maybe its an anti-trust suit by the Maloofs with Ballmer money. Nevertheless, its in violation of the Sherman Act, and I think a reasonable argument could be made for price fixing, whether you agree or not agree, there is a case to be made here. Its one thing to deny Hansen and Ballmer...

Monday will be crazy and other news, rumors, etc.

There are no other teams available until 2017 at the earliest. Expansion is the only option for Seattle before a new politician comes around and everything starts over again. Expansion is on the table I bet, owners are being extremely stubborn by negating it. There is downside risk for...

Monday will be crazy and other news, rumors, etc.

Well first off, don't get the wrong idea by this point, I'm trying to be objective and not trying to offend anyone. I think Maloofs are scum and you guys deserve better owners. And I do think one way or another the NBA won't give up on Sacramento, even if it takes several years to sort out this...

Monday will be crazy and other news, rumors, etc.

NBA should have used its best interest clause to kick out George Shinn after he was accused of sexual harassment in Charlotte in the early 2000s. Hornets would have never moved to New Orleans. New Orleans Hornets would have never gone to OKC post-Katrina. Sonics would have never been moved to...

Monday will be crazy and other news, rumors, etc.

Very interesting post. I will say, any suit carried out by Ballmer will be damaging to the league as it would required a lot of information the NBA considers to be secret to be revealed. They'd have to open up their books to the public, and remember, the last CBA deal was considered to be one...

Ah, didn't pick up on that.

This is what I've always thought, put the pressure on the league to expand. The NBA should have expanded to Seattle once Hansen & Ballmer stepped in to bring basketball back to Seattle. Could have avoided all of this nonsense.

Common, you're name here is Larry David.....Stern is a Jew, I'm sure he's never been to a baptism.

A Sonics fan's point of view

I'm not going to deny there are a lot of left wing people in Seattle who hate basketball. But there also are a lot of rational, pro business, pro sports, pro basketball people in the area too. Unfortunately there are a lot of left wing nuts in this area which makes it a politically difficult...

A Sonics fan's point of view

You're absolutely correct here, I've never argued Sacramento wasn't viable. I loved the early 2000s Kings. I wished it had worked out for Adelman in Minnesota because that team was becoming very reminiscent of the early 2000s Kings. I actually think Utah is a much more model franchise than...

A Sonics fan's point of view

The NBA loves bankrupting cities to build them new arenas without having to pay for them, and then dictating where the team will play. The NBA loves moving teams if they can continue this process, which in my opinion is the wrong way to handle yourself as a league, especially now when most...

A Sonics fan's point of view

The timeline is correct, except left out of it was that there was a blatant motivation for Bennett to move to OKC in a short period of time. First off, I think its wrong for the NBA to demand a new arena to be built 10 years after taxpayers footed the bill for the Key Arena renovations. 10...

A Sonics fan's point of view

Its much more complicated than that. Sacramento has always had Stern on its side, Stern took sides against Seattle before Shultz even considered selling the team. I never said I wanted to steal the Kings, I want expansion. I'm not stomping my feet, I'm still pissed about 2008 when the league...

A Sonics fan's point of view

I don't mind if the league doesn't come back if they don't expand to Seattle quite soon, Seattle has an arena plan which is what Stern wanted all along, along with all the money in the world. The league should award Seattle with a team. If they don't I have no problem burning bridges for good...

A Sonics fan's point of view

So okay, its two battles, Sacramento vs. Maloofs & Seattle vs. Stern. Both our two battles should have never been mixed together. Its not Seattle vs. Sacramento, and thats what I've tried to do over here speaking with you guys. I've never thought or wanted it to be Seattle vs. Sacramento, I've...

A Sonics fan's point of view

Cause he's an egotistical prick. Listen, Washington like California is a difficult state politically. There are a lot of lunatics up there, but also a lot of rational, business minded people. There is a reason Washington is corporate heaven, 0.2% business taxes, but its also extremely...

A Sonics fan's point of view

You have to understand, a lot of people Seattle in 2008 wanted the mayor Nickels to go scorched earth and force the NBA to stay two more years through their lease, and if they had gone that route in retrospect, Bennett would have been forced to sell (a few short months after moving the team the...
