    The San Francisco Giants 2010

Important news: Giants re-sign Bengie Molina to a one-year $4.5M deal. I think it is a decent move. Only one year, less than 5M - good numbers. Posey is not ready for 500 ABs.

Shocker... McGwire comes clean, admits steroid use

I am glad he did it. We all knew but it is nice to hear it from him too. I also think that LaRussa was a major factor in that and it was a condition for his return. I was a fan of Mac, may be not anymore but still I think he was/is a great player and should be elected to HOF.

    The San Francisco Giants 2010

Giants agree to terms on one-year deal with Aubrey Huff, 1B Good: Reliable hitter with decent power throughout his career Punishes fastball pitchers Fairly cheap 1 year contract Bad: Jumped the shark last year Very bad defender at 1B. I mean real bad - no range, no mobility, bad glove, bad...

    The San Francisco Giants 2010

Now we know that Uribe was brought back on 1 year, 3.25M deal ... I think the deal is not cheap but pretty fair taking into consideration that he can play 3 IF positions. As I understand, The Giants managers wanna sign either LF (Damon, not crazy about him) or 1B (LaRoache).

    Ricky Rubio --- FIBA

As a big hockey and NHL fan I can tell you that we do not have this game in hockey anymore. Butt-man decided to change it and now we have that boring East-West format.

    Ricky Rubio --- FIBA

They all played under NBA rules if I am not mistaken. Euroleague teams build their tactics and team-defense around a small FIBA zone and this one is absolutely ineffective under NBA rules and zone. That's why NBA teams struggle against Europeans teams under FIBA rules. Yesterday, I brought the...

Don't you think that NBA learnt something from them too? Do you know that Popovich spent a lot of time teaching and also learning in Europe. I know that Brown (Cleavland coach) spend each summer with CSKA learning their system. And we can continue this list. Obviously, it is not a fair two-way...

    Ricky Rubio --- FIBA

I think this discussion is a little bit unfair because some people (mostly from the US) do not watch (cannot watch, never watched) European basketball. Obviously, it is very different. Just the philosophy or culture of the game is different .. on and of the court. It is not NBA good power-wise...

    Ricky Rubio --- FIBA

And how about WC 2004, WC 2006, Olympics 2004, my international friend?? Team USA is the best team, no doubts .. but there is no "head and shoulders better than everyone else" difference anymore. It was 15 years ago; not anymore. That's why we can see so many non-American players playing in...

    Ricky Rubio --- FIBA

Europe has its own superstars, at least by European standards. I do not know whether you really follow European basketball or not but if you do, you should remember many teams with very good players that we were above everybody else. For example, Jugoplastika with Kukoc and Radja. May be they...

    Ricky Rubio --- FIBA

It is not what he said .. you can always make "stars" on any roster and allow them to be the players. He said that European teams are not build around one or two players marketing-wise or stardom-wise, no matter how good they are. Of course, every team has players that are better but nobody...

    Brook Lopez Trade Deadline Deal

Brick, that guy has the most beautiful women in the world .. the most expensive yachts in the world .... and .. and .. and. :D I guess he knows what to do :D Prokhorov never done anything stupid or hasty during his CSKA era. I just think that he wants to be patient and see what is going on...

    Brook Lopez Trade Deadline Deal

Do not forget, guys .. The Nets franchise has a new ownership and Prokhorov has already stated that he wants to keep their budget low in order to bring new superstars (and Kevin definitely is not one of them).

Yes, Messi is not an outsider but still he is a questionable home-grown boy .. 50/50 I would say. And again, now Barca has a lot of local talent but it is not in their nature. BUT, as I said, just several years ago that team was a foreign corporation in Catalonia with no local flavor AT ALL...

Honestly, I almost want to puke when I hear serenades about how Barcelona is a good honest club that relies on its local guys and compete against rich and powerful Real "the dark side of the force" Madrid. Yes, now Barcelona has a lot of home-grown guys but they have also many expensive...
