Kings picking 13th overall (formerly the draft lotto thread)

Well, it was Monte who drafted Davion :-) Jokes apart, I do agree with Monte being a good talent evaluator. Every GM will have some hits/misses, and sometimes the outcomes are a combination of a variety of factors beyond your control, and they can make you look like a genius/idiot. Overall...

Kings picking 13th overall (formerly the draft lotto thread)

Please reread my comments. What I'm highlighting is that it's more likely that the selected player will be out of the league or contributing to some other team, than being a major part of your team. Contributing to some other team may not always be bad, particularly if you have traded him to...

Kings picking 13th overall (formerly the draft lotto thread)

For those willing to trade Davion for #22 (or worse), here are the #22 picks from 2014 to 2020 (not including latter ones, since some might see a significant change over the next few years). 2014: Jordan Adams (currently playing in Indonesia) 2015: Bobby Portis (decent player, but currently on...

Kings picking 13th overall (formerly the draft lotto thread)

The trouble, of course, is not that you want to trade one of your guards, but what you get back in return. While no player is untradeable, it is reasonable to assume that Monte won't want to trade Fox, Monk, Ellis, or the player selected. Monk has just signed (not even really signed yet), a...

    Keon Tyrese Ellis

I know this thread is about Keon, but I'm also excited and hopeful about Colby next season. Could we have hit on two hidden gems? Would be so awesome if he turns into a solid consistent contributor.

    [Game] Kings @ Pelicans (Play-In Tournament) - 4/19 6:30PM PDT/9:30 PM EDT

Sadly, this is exactly what I was thinking. Hope I'm wrong.

    Lyles has MCL injury

Bummer. That said, it does open up minutes for a 3 guard lineup that so many of us are effectively clamoring for with a desire to see Keon start, and also finding meaningful minutes for Kevin (and Davion, not to mention Duarte). Unless Edwards raises his hands and makes a claim for more...

Can We Show Some Love for Davion?

If Ellis moves to a starting role, we'll also have Kevin for bench scoring :-) Of course, where will the minutes come from?

    Kings own the Lakers

Basically we have to win our remaining regular season and PO games for me to feel comfortable :-)

[Game] Kings vs Milwaukee Bucks - 3/12/2024 7:00PM PST/10:00PM EST

We're not getting Mikal without including one of our top 3, which would be dumb. Adding a first to Red Velvet won't get it done, since our pick will be reasonably low. We might be able to pull it off by attaching other assets, but doubt it.

    What's going on with Keegan?

[Game] Kings vs. Chicago Bulls, 3/4/2024, 7:00p PT/10:00p ET

Agreed. Not only do they have lots more experience than us, the league would much rather get them in the PO than us. Don't want to be a full on conspiracy theorist, but I wouldn't be surprised if even the players think like that.

[Game] Kings vs. Chicago Bulls, 3/4/2024, 7:00p PT/10:00p ET

This is becoming increasingly annoying and worrying. Yes, such games will happen during the season; yes, sometimes our guys will have subpar games, and other guys will get hot. I get it. But, this is happening far too frequently to us this season. We need some vocal leader who can hold the team...

Hard data on Murray's defense (split from the T-Wolves [Game] thread)

I want Keon to succeed as much as any other fan, but he hasn't earned that role yet. Yes, he's played well when his number is called, but Kevin deserves the spot above him. First of all, Kevin is much bigger (6'7'', 198 lbs vs 6'3'', 175 lbs). In the past, people have pointed out that Keon's...

    [Game] Kings @ Chicago Bulls, 2/3/2024, 5:00p PT/8:00p ET

Just wonder if it also has to do with the fact that we are the Kings. IIRC, we were last in FT differential last year, and might be in the same range (if not dead last again) this year, given that teams typically tend to shoot more FTs than us (with some exceptions like tonight). I would expect...

    Keegan “KEEGAN MURRAY” Murray

Well, he has a twin brother playing a little up North. Perhaps we can trick Portland into parting with him for a reasonable price, and have at least one more of him :-)

Can We Show Some Love for Davion?

I kind of agree with your thoughts, but if true, is a wrong strategy. Monte has had three lottery picks, and with the exception of Davion, nailed the other two. Given our needs and personnel, Davion didn't make a lot of sense. Perhaps the idea that we need a real defensive player in practice...
