Scoreboard Watch/Playoff Standings Watch 2025 Edition

Either your good enough to win or your not irregardless of the strength of schedule. SOS doesn’t take into consideration matchup problems with other teams.
Yeah, and this is a definitely a good thing. This way the Kings will have a much better gauge of what works and what doesn't. The Kings have gotten really lucky with other teams injuries too so that's allowed them to build some momentum so even though it's still a new situation they've kind of gotten ahead on the chemistry side already.

Looks like we are pretty much a lock for at minimum a play-in home game. Whether we are #9 or #8. Well only if we were the #8 and lose the first away play-in game. We have been a strong team over the last 30 or so (20-10 I think). Over an 82 game season that's a 50+ win team, which is something we have been trying to get to the past couple years. Reminds me when we traded for Artest and won a bunch of games to make the playoffs when we were at about .500 before the trade. I think we had like the 2nd or 3rd best record after Artest trade, but got a tough San Antonio team. I did not even know at one point we were 13-19... yikes.. That's like 30 win Kings team area..

might not be enough games left in the season for the Rockets to completely freefall but they have been struggling for a while and this won’t help.
Yeah that's not good for them. It was an interesting choice for them to completely stand pat at the deadline so they could "see what they have". I still think they are in good position for the future but they could have made a few small moves to try to secure home court and now they seem like they could wind up in the play in.

Watching Den-OKC, was a great game until the refs completely injected themselves for no reason. OKC getting an all time whistle
What irritates me most are not those phantom calls, but the non - calls. Sure, no replays is a rule in such situations. But sometimes we see replays and can only smile "How that foul was not called???". Even without the replays, in real game-time situation there are so many obvious non-calls...

Why can't we just move back to the 8 seed format?

This current format is kind of weird. What's with the gimmicky tournament team.

I mean, isn't it exciting to see those 8/9 seeds gut it out at the end of the regular season anyway?

You spend all season playing for some weird tournament at the end
It's because they won't seed top 16 league wide and so the Western Conference will once again have the 9 and 10 seeds finish with better records than the Eastern conference 7 seed. There's even a pretty good chance that seeds 11 and 12 in the West will be better than a team that makes the EC playoffs.

Also a way for a few owners to get an extra home game or two and charge playoff prices.

Kings should not fall lower than 9
Dallas has is too injured and Suns schedule believe it or not is more difficult than Kings schedule plus Kings have a solid lead on them
Sneaking into the 8th would guarantee 2 games so obviously that's the goal.Realisticly only Clippers are here for the taking, Minny has much easier schedule and Warriors seem to have that "we not losing again" aura around( how else to explain Draymond hitting game winning 3 ...) with Curry turning back the clock and playing like an MVP Curry

Plenty of evidence from the discussion in this thread and elsewhere that the play-in is good, actually. Yes, you lose the in or out stakes at 8 vs 9. But instead of that one race, you have meaningful stakes at 6/7, 8/9, and of course 10/11, and arguably 7/8 and 9/10 in terms of home court. We have a Houston team at 5 looking like they could slide into the play in, and a Portland team at 12 not giving up. You could argue it makes the regular season more interesting, if anything.

I will beat my personal dead horse but if you seeded top 16 regardless of conference and maybe extended a play-in to any teams finishing above .500 it would likely result in the same thing, without rewarding a team who finishes 8 games under .500 with a playoff spot.

The reason a team like Portland is competing for the play in (if they actually are) is because they will be like #11 or 12 in the lotto standings if they miss.

Suns lost was a big one. My prediction is they win 38-39 Dallas has an easy schedule. They should win 41 or so. We have 33 wins. Can we get to 43? Most likely outcome is we play Dallas at home in the play in. Can we catch fire and play the wolves instead? That would be much better.

Given our respective splits, the TWolves might be better served playing the playin game against us at G1C

Halftime results for some games we care about:

DAL 62, SAS 64
PHX 52, HOU 57
LAC 57, MIA 52

Minnesota takes on Denver later, but I’m starting to care less and less about results involving teams above the top 8. Our chances of 6th or 7th are extremely slim.
