Kings Acquire Jake LaRavia

Kinda sucks that if he is any level of good then there is almost no chance the Kings can keep him
That's not written in the stone.
Not many games are left in the regular season.
2025 draft is projected to be REALLY good.
Going against Domas, JV, Keegan, Lyles in practices alone can improve his game greatly.
Sharing the floor during the games with the current Kings roster is a very valuable time for any young players development.
Just sign in the summer with the Kings new contract, develop your game and get paid when the next contract negotiations will open.
In current NBA it is extremely important for a player to be on a right, fitting team. And oh boy, if he, in his minutes on the court this season, can be any good - well, Sacramento is a place which really needs a guy like him.

Trading up to get Colby Jones is a sunk cost. Unless you still have faith in Colby Jones as a player (I don't) there is no sense keeping him just to keep him. We wasted a pick on him either way. I don't see getting a useful player for even just this year as lighting a 2nd on fire. Using 2nds to dump Davion was lighting on fire.

I would guess the play here is they hope he is a solid performer for us, loves it on sac, flies under the radar and then we sign him to the 5Mish contract we can in the off season.
Let’s hope. And I was talking more about the seconds we gave up if we can’t resign him.

So Ordinary That It's Truly Quite Extraordinary

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. I pointed it out in’s thread earlier but Haywood Highsmith was a similar impact player and he re-signed for 2/10
Also if second year is a player option he could get a much bigger payday by betting on himself if he is a good fit here.

It's much more valuable for guys at his stage in career to play for a team where he's valued and gets quality time, rather than squeezing a few mil more out of a contract and not being sure if it will be a good fit.

If he fits here and is happy with his role he absolutely will resign here for a 1-2 year deal, and then look to cash in after that.

I hope you are right. He has the same agent as Austin Reaves who signed a very team-friendly deal with the lakers. Nice to know Laravia is represented by an agent that doesn’t appear to be focused primarily on the money. Jake is from Indiana. If this team turns it on in the second half, Sacramento might be able to seduce him. I’m optimistic.

The crowd also loves it, both as a chant in the closing minutes to put their "stamp" on a win and also as a cool visual after the game for the city to know they won.
Hearing it on the road is especially sweet. The confusion on the home teams faces as everyone chanted it in year 1 was hilarious lol i hope we get more of that in Dallas tomorrow night.
