What is wrong with Landry.. He did really good in GS.. Idk why all the bashing, who else would you have backing up the PF on a consistent basis, Chuck? Mikki Moore?
Landry is a fine PF for run-n-gun small ball team, but we had him and saw how god awful he was as a PF next to DMC. H can't defend ANY PF in the league. So unless we are converting him to SF or playing small ball he will not be an asset.

Great pickup for Kings, who beat out the Clippers for Landry's services.

Landry Exhibit A of how new ownership changing things there. Safe to say he had no interest in returning if previous regime still in place

I'm not gonna judge any moves until training camp starts and the roster is set. As it is Landry is a good 3rd big off the bench, meaning at least one of Patterson, JT, Hayes is gone. For those ready to set PDA's house on fire, Malone coached Landry last season and is probably his guy. Anyways new situation, new system, Landry is a good player, good character guy who looked bad here because we were an isolation heavy team.

All star free agents are not coming to Sacramento. Realize the bottom dwelling Kings are not going to transform overnight, it is a process just like the Warriors, it will take time. Less than 2 months into a new ownership and a great deal of you are jumping ship. I am embarrassed that some of you call yourselves Kings fans.

Patterson would seem to fit as a stretch 4 next to Howard and a guy with obvious familiarity with the franchise.

Edit to add: obviously the frontcourt is a work in progress. I'll reserve judgment for the final product.
If we were going to load up on redundant pieces, I'd rather have the redundant 2g's in Reke and Mac. This is the same crap we've pulled for years. Offense first guys that don't address our greatest needs.

It doesn't make sense.

Andre Iguodala would have been terribly expensive, but he made sense. Tyreke Evans would have been kind of expensive, but he made sense. But instead of those guys, we still have a massive gaping hole at the SF in a market quickly drying up of SF options, and we sign a smallish, offensively-oriented PF, which given Patrick Patterson is about the last thing we need. So we spent 4/$26M on the last thing we need.

It doesn't make sense.

Sure, we can hope there's more in the pipeline. For instance, flipping PPat and Hayes for Deng and then resigning Aldrich would make this move look a lot better. But I can tell you that ain't gonna happen. So why did we do it? Why did we spend half the cap space we currently have on a redundant player? Why does every move, every single move this offseason, look bad?

Wake me up when we do something smart.

Pretty sure most of "us" couldn't care less whether you think we're good kings fans. I dealt with this same attitude through the entire last rebuild. Bad moves rarely combine into a vision of a good one. These moved dont address needs, make us better currently or provide super valuable trade assets for the future.

Well that takes care of my depressing Kings news for the day. I'll continue to bleed purple and I'm forever in debt to Vivek for keeping the team here but how long do we continue to bleed? Cheese & rice. I'm hopeful a trade for a SF is in the works with our so-called cap genius aka Austin Powers aka the character from Despicable Me. In the meantime back to watching Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives

That definitely gives me a lot of peace. When compare to potentially having the organization in Seattle, this is definitely a nice change...

Well...
I guess I just have to wait for the other dominoes to fall. Scoring wasn't the issue last year. Being dead fricking last in defense was. This did not address that issue at all. 4 years huh.

Sigh, I won't burn PDA just yet, but I'm gathering kindling and sharpening the pitchfork.

Crap, I guess Carmichael Dave was right. Wiggins it is!

Well, that one came out of nowhere. Landry welcome back... even if I question why exactly you are back. Cousins, PPat, JT, Landry, Hayes... something has to give there. I suspect there will be a trade coming up. Should be interesting to see what unfolds with "Mr. Sees 4 moves Ahead" guiding the roster changes

So hiring Malone and drafting McLemore and McCallum (dont sleep on him) are bad moves? This roster is a WORK IN PROGRESS, It is July 6th, we haven't even played summer league games. This is Vivek's, Malone's and PDA's Sacramento Kings, you couldn't expect them to just keep everything as is, especially since we have stunk for years now. This is a new project that will surely keep some remnants of the past, but make no mistake moves are far from over.

Can't wait to hear the glass half full guys defend this one.
I've been a glass half full guy about the Tyreke/Vasquez/Iggy situation but this one I cannot defend (hey just like Landry).

Landry is a fine player but he gives us nothing that we need. We already have a similar player in Patterson. Now we have 4 big men that can't block shots worth a damn. I hope and pray that we're packaging the rest of our junk for a guy like Asik or Gortat.

Maybe we should go out and burn our Kings Jerseys. Good grief, teenage drama queens have more understanding.

Maybe that's it! Maybe that is it!! He sees 4 steps ahead! Don't kill Einstein yet maybe he sees 4 steps ahead for real...

That glass is about to be thrown up against the wall soon if this new GM doesn't start making some sense in all of this.

First, fairly certain you've never even seen ray play but are just tacking it on to the new regime can do no wrong shtick.

Second, at this rate, I'm actually hoping our moves are done.

So we are going to support our franchise cornerstone by signing a redundant piece to play next to him? DMC and Landry do not work together. This is not even a theoretical. It has been proven. You can't have two low post scorers on the floor at the same time when one of them is only valuable as a low post scorer. Can't defend, can't rebound. I am starting to get this sick feeling that DMC may be gone after this year.

wow, just wow... i'm speechless. i'm trying my hardest to reserve judgment and exercise patience but man, with moves like this, it's awfully hard to have faith in this FO (specifically PDA). how does this move address what coach malone stands for - DEFENSE? each day seems to be better than the next... ugh!

I definitely smell a trade sometime before the deadline. JT, Patterson and Landry are all good players. Any 2 of the 3 plus one of our mini chuckers should be able to get something done.
