[Game] Kings @ Jazz (2/4/13) Game Thread

At least we put up some competitive spirit this game and it was watchable.... the Jazz need it more - they are in a playoff run and we are counting lottery ball %

How many times the Kings lose to teams hitting the jumper and our players with circus shots missing. It's hard to win when you can't shoot the J.

Or you sub in Reke and Salmon provide the team with additional help to bring the ball up and let Jimmer be a spot up shooter? Sometime you have to help the player and provide support.

I am not a Jimmer fan btw.
Well then, you're just playing 4-on-5.

slightly OT, but: will the Jazz trade Jefferson or Millsap and, if so, which trade do you prefer? need a Jazz fan's opinion on that.
The general consensus is that one of them will be traded and that the trade will probably include one of our younger guys like Alec Burks or Enes Kanter. I think most Jazz fans are expecting it to be Milsap that gets traded but hope that it is Jefferson that is gone. Milsap is the better overall player but Jefferson is so key to what we do offensively that I am not sure that we will trade him. Jefferson isn't efficient enough (mostly because he doesn't get to the free throw line enough) to ever be a dominate player that is contending for a championship but he is good enough to get you to the playoffs. He is also a very good late in games. He scores on like 60% of his possessions late in games and he is really our best option when things get tight.

I trust our front office to have a plan that is well thought out and will keep us competitive in the long run. Our owner is great and isn't afraid to spend money if he thinks it gives us a chance to win and our GM and Director of Basketball Operations both do a good job of being responsible with our owners money and spending wisely. I don't think there will be a trade for trades sake. it will have to make sense and give our team a chance to get better. Because of this I wouldn't be surprised if nothing happened.

the question mostly is whether or not you can keep the offense working with Favors and Millsap, right? I've been watching the Jazz quite a lot this year and I've felt that, quite often, Millsap/Favors is superior to all the other frontcourt combinations you have. Favors is looking better by the day as far as carrying the team offensively goes and he is so much better defensively than Jefferson is that that has to be the combination going forward, imo. I'd prefer Millsap to Jefferson also because of defensive reasons. saw a post on a Jazz blog pointing out that no team featuring Jefferson as a starter has ever managed to be ranked better than 20th in defensive efficiency.

as far as a trade goes: what/who would you be targeting? an upgrade at the PG or SG? more shooting maybe? do you feel there's a package out there that would be an adequate return for either one of Jefferson/Millsap?

should nothing happen, would you prefer Jefferson walks in the offseason, if there is no sign-and-trade possibility? it's just that Favors needs to be a starter and soon. plus, Kanter has been looking good with his shot and post moves, if he develops those further he might be a starter soon, too.
