We don't need him against the scrub teams of the league, but we absolutely, positively need him in order to compete against the upper echelon of the league. You're delusional if you don't believe that.

Yeah. When's his next Meltdown?
On this night in Sleep Train Arena he showed some of what he's capable of doing. That's what this thread is all about. It was a tradition back in the days when the Kings won on a more regular basis and it's certainly a tradition I would love to revive. If you can't enjoy the moment, that's your prerogative but a lot of us old-timers like just being able to smile at the end of the game.

And that's why you don't give up on him.
It depends on if these types of games are becoming more frequent or less frequent. He didn't shoot it well but he was doing other things well. I don't think he is untouchable, especially if the Kings don't think they can re-sign him but the offer would have to be pretty good.

Unlimited upside is an overused term. But it really means something because those who don't have it - never will have it. And it very well might be that Cousins just wastes his. But he does have it and there's a very strong chance that if you trade him, what you get in return will not. The only thing worse than watching the guy struggle to get his mind and game sorted out is trading him to another team and watching him get it figured out there and becoming an All Star.

Ride it until it flies or blows up. I'm not interested in watching some never will be cast offs killing roster space. It's not like the Maloofs aren't a bigger distraction anyway.

Idle threat. If you have been a fan of this team, for this long, you aren't going anywhere.
that's largely because you don't understand what DeMarcus Cousins is. You really don't. Since you don't, and others like you don't, you don't understand his significance to the fanbase. He is the guy you wait for. In 27 years we've seen one other of his ilk, and we got lucky in a trade to get that one. And now the team may not even be around in 5 more if things don't change. DeMarcus might be the last best hope for the entire Sacto era of the franchise.

idk. it would be far worse than anything they have done before. trading an aging/injured Webber was pretty bad, but nothing like giving up on a 22 year old with this much potential and talent

My team has had multiple players that were and are better than Demarcus. He is a special talent but he isn't as irreplaceable as you make him out to be.

Then why don't you go post on a jazz board where everyone else can agree how lucky you are to have your players.

If you are referring to the Kings I disagree with you. Brick is right if CWebb was 1A then DMC is 1B. A Franchise is fortunate to get one talent like DMC a decade.

Two come to mind. And you had them for 15 years. If you had traded them in 1988 you would have been complete idiots and been the Salt Lake Clippers. You contended while they were int heir primes. You have not since, with or without a HOF coach.

We are not so lucky with our friends. We had one player as talented as DeMarcus for 6 years. We too had a HOF caliber coach for 8 years. We too conntended whiel that player was at his peak. We haven't even come remotely close before or after.

Losing the big talents is franchise altering. Barring luck this franchise has never had, a not insignifciant portion of the remaining fanbase will have passed on before another equal talent walks through those doors.

No kidding. What is this? North Korea?!?!

No, not North Korea. Its a Kings message board, particularly a topic celebrating the game Cuz played tonight. I criticize the team and it's players just like others (probably more so). But there is a time and place to do it and this isn't it.

I did not know that:) My bad. Do you miss Sloan?

KB
Yes. Sloan was a great coach and a really good person. I like Tyrone Corbin though and think that he has done a good job so far. He has made some mistakes but he has done a good job of managing the young players with the veteran players. We have also had a killer schedule so for this year.

You guys do realize he was 4-12 tonight right? And he picked up 5 assists after Boston put the scrubs in. I want that impressed with his game tonight. He does have loads of potential but zero consistency right now and he could have another meltdown at any minute

Were all better than Cousins is now. He might get there but he isn't there now and it isn't a sure thing that he will ever get there.
