Kings vs. Warriors pre season game 3

#95
17 TO's, 21 fouls, 7 assists, 33 FG% from the floor and we're only down by 7.

That's a positive sign in my book. We're playing like complete crap and still have a chance to win this game

what a horrific performance by the kings and refs, and yet we were in it. winning this game would have given the team a false sense of confidence. Now lets see how the team reacts after its first loss

Well that was ugly.

I can't say after tonight only there is now way Outlaw should be getting any minutes over Johnson. None. Ever.
Maybe JJ shouldn't have picked up so many fouls so quickly then.

T-Rob with another bad game. I'm worried about his future. Drummond or Barnes could have been better fits.

I think Stephen Curry if he stays healthy is going to have a big year - plus not having Monta Ellis around. Meanwhile, I don't know who on the Kings is going to have "a big year" except Cuz as long as he can stay on the court for big minutes.

well i guess thats what happens when one team thinks is the playoffs and one team knows its preseason. David Lee played 38:40, DeMarcus Cousins 23:17. thats all u need to know to see who won the game. Kings will dismantle the Warriors in regular season

Not picking Barnes will look pretty bad if JJ isn't contributing as our SF and TRob isn't at least a good backup PF for us.

the only positive to spin from this is that the W's pretty much gave us their best game and played their stars big minutes, and we collectively laid an egg and played our stars limited minutes, yet we were still in the game. Hopefully the team bounces back on Friday against the prehistoric Lakers.

Those of you who missed watching this game should feel very fortunate. I'm the fellow who told Rainmaker that it was a step back in progress and it never got better the whole game. Highlight of the night was when a nice bearded gentleman came up to my wife and I before the game as we sat in our seats in the top row of the arena and asked if we would like a pair of tickets down in row F off the floor. Lowlight of the night was having to sit in those close seats and witness the ugliness of the game close up.

If the Kings are using the Globetrotter's offense then in the first half they were practicing the play where Meadowlark sat in a chair on the court. They pretty much played the offence we learned to hate last year all game. Little passing lots of dribble drives with ugly missed layups. Weird game with no energy. Smart didn't care about winning as much as trying out certain groups of players together which is OK I guess in pre season.

i dont care if it is pre-season, what the hell is Smart doing putting Outlaw in the starting lineup? im glad he is trying out Tyreke at the 2 with MT on the bench, but why Outlaw over the other 3 options?

Robinson wasn't really that bad. He did a lot without the ball. His point total was so low, because he only took three shots. He should've had a boatload of assists tonight, but we kept missing open shots. He was constantly putting guys in great positions to score, they just kept missing.

It's only because he can't start Salmons who is out with personal issues. Only half kidding there because Salmons is really out. Smart has an odd fetish for some veteran players who really don't seem to contribute other than forcing shots up that have little chance of falling. It's like he has to trot out lineups that are terrible just to prove that his idea of playing Tyreke at the SF seems like a good one.

i think Barnes would have been a better pick no matter what
Do you really think that after just 3 pre-season games?? First things first: Travis Outlaw should NEVER be starting over James Johnson...EVER! Second: Tonight was a bad game. Third: The sun will come up in the morning, and the Kings will continue to work on fixing what they made mistakes on. Remember this folks, its a new offense, new defense, new key players in our lineup...the playoff aren't going to happen overnight. I still think that with a starting lineup of Brooks, Evans, Johnson, Thompson, Cousins...and a bench with Thornton, Robinson and Thomas...we can be pretty darn good(maybe not 50 wins, but still pretty good)...once the kinks are worked out.

Smart needs to figure out his lineups and rotations asap. what other team in the nba is just throwing things at a wall and seeing what sticks? Also Tyreke isn't helping the Thornton to the bench arguement by looking pedestrian at times like last year. He's supposed to be a star player for us, but at times just looks like he's content to be a roleplayer. Tyreke needs to be agressive without Isaiah or Thornton on the floor.

no it has nothing to do with preseason at all. i thought that before the draft. i think T Rob looks great so far and is going to be a big contributer right away as a rookie and i really like the kid, and im glad he's on the team. i just think overall Barnes was a better fit for the team and would have a been a better pick in the long run

Preseason or not, the Warriors seem to have our number as of late dating back to last season. We don't no longer match up with them as good as we used to, although they went away from playing small ball so that might be the reason.
Actually, they played Ezeli and Tyler for 18 minutes combined so Jackson is certainly not averse to midget lineups. With Bogut they will play regular sized lineups though.

Tyreke 3-13 and Cuz 2-10 - Brooks 2-6 and 0-3 from downtown - ouch.

Didn't see the game so no idea what went on but how is Evans Jumpshot looking?
