DeMarcus Cousins or Tyreke Evans?

Its pretty much a given that these days you can't build around 1 guy. You need 2 and in a lot of cases 3 major guys. Having said that there is a clear hierarchial structure in place with those teams and that should be the case with us too.
Cousins is no doubt our #1 guy as you always try to build and attack from inside out and he is our most talented player. The next in line is Tyreke. Call Cousins 1A and Tyreke 1B. They are both equally important and neither guy will not get it done without the other.
Now if god forbid you have a Kobe-Shaq situation, you keep Cousins and move Tyreke but nothing at this point has suggested this to be the case and as such those 2 should be our main pieces that you just don't move unless you get an offer out of this world.

I agree with Carolija. Both! But if I have to name the main guy, it's goign to be Cousins. He can be the best center in the league. I'm sure about that. He is a special talent, and we need to build around him.
I also have a feeling next season will be a breakout season for Boogie, something like the 2010/11 season for Kevin Love. I'm confident he will make big improvements over the summer, especially after the USA team selection. If he's able to learn to stay out of foul trouble, he is ready for a 25/13 season.

Both players are extremely valuable. I would not trade either one unless the return is Durant, Harden, Love, or another young Star. I think DMC and Tyreke have that kind of talent. The coaching carousel in Sacto has provided no system to develop these young guys. If either were on the Spurs they would dominate within that pass first system. Pop would guarantee it.

Actually this might be the best answer. The question wasn't "who is best?" As they play two very different positions, they both have unique needs as to running mates and the rest of the Kings need to compliment them. Cousins ideally requires the athletic shot blocker but at least a great defender and Tyreke requires a PG that is not ball dominant as, like it or not, he will be best used if occasionally he makes his trademark excursion to the rim.
I really disagree as to Tyreke being a bust. When we talk of players being in their prime, we mean those years where the athleticism is still at full bore and they don't require a walker on the court and their basketball knowledge is high. Each player has his own prime but generally it's between 26 and 32 give or take a few years. Roughly. To make a determinent judgment of a players' skills, let's see how he plays in his prime.

You can build a team around what he brings to the table. If you build a team around Reke's skillset your team is going to suck.
That being said...If we could find a real coach, who could FIT Reke's skillset into a team, rather than build around it...We're talkin playoffs!

Seriously? DMC 10/10 if you have to pick one, but it needn't be a contest about who you build around. Others have said it rather well - they each have complementary skillsets. Whether by luck or design (knowing management, I'm going with luck), they drafted two players who's abilities make it easy for them to play with each other. What we need to do is draft/sign players that fit around what the two of them bring together. When that happens (and the coaching thing gets fixed), then this team will really take off.
fans of professional sports teams are weird. everything always has to be polar. everything must always be constructed as a binary. when, in truth, you need multiple skill sets to win in this league. there is no reason and there continues to be no indication that demarcus cousins and tyreke evans can't coexist on the same team, and there is plenty of evidence that suggests they could be a powerful force together when utilized properly. i would suggest doing so in a disciplined system with an experienced coaching staff who knows how to run a nuanced offense with an emphasis on pick and roll basketball, while also encouraging a physical defensive mindset, rather than fostering a culture of bad habits and reach-ins...
DMC has the better chance of the two, due to his excellent rebounding and offensive skill-set. However, I think his lack of athleticism is going to hold him back from being an elite player in this league. He is shooting around 45% from the field which is very poor for an NBA big man. His lack of explosiveness prevents him from getting the easy baskets that elite centers like Howard and Bynum get. He is still very young, though, so there is still some hope that he can develop. Tyreke is a very skilled player, but his style of play seems predicated on him dominating the ball in the half-court. He can put up very good numbers in that sort of system, but very few teams have been successful running that style of offense.
This is a silly and bit of a transparent question to ask right at this moment as its obviously Cousins. But that said Cousins alone is just Dwight Howard alone. Even if he blows up the way I think he can, he can get you to the playoffs, but he can never bring you home the ring without major league help. Enter Tyreke.
Its a bit like asking who are the Heat built around, or who are the Thunder built around. Probably LeBron and Durant. But those guys are sitting at home playing video games right now without Wade and Westbrook too.

It would indeed make you crazy.
Superstars drive the NBA. You get one, you sell your own mama to the creditors before you give him up. DeMarcus Cousins has a chance to be the best player in the entire history of the Sacramento Kings. I like Pop, but he'd have about 4 less rings on his fingers if he hadn't drafted Tim Duncan just in time to join him for his first seaosn as head coach.
I think both have equally important "franchise-type player" talents. But since both have equally serious flaws in their game and character (that may or may not be corrected soon enough), it is hard to choose between the two.
Right now 50.00001% of me says Cousins, but only because I see more passion in Cousins' game. He seemed to have shown in more games that he hated losing. That is the kind of player you want to lead your team. Someone with pride. I cannot say the same thing with the seemingly passive Evans.
