Exactly. Was going to post something similar.

The lack of spin, and true genuine presence were a stark contrast to our usual... announcers. That's how basketball announcing should be! How amazing would it be if we had a broadcast team of The Big O, Scott Pollard, Kayte C., and say Carmichael Dave doing play by play! That's the dream team right there.
Johnny Doskow on Play by play
Scotty and Big O on color commentary.

I could live with that.

Re: Reke's reps meeting w/ Kings. It was the basic discussion of the future. No new deal is on the way for Reke.

Evans should really be back in these final minutes, but Smart plays him most of the 2nd qtr. then benches him and never comes back. I noticed this the last game also.

Thornton isn't available, which should help Reke hold on to his minutes. And that's my eternal optimist post of the day.

Nice job of officiating. I saw THREE uncalled fouls on that last sequence. No wonder Smart was jumping up and down on the sidelines. Cuz needs to take a deep breath, though, and just get past it. Maybe Oscar could give him a few hints on that...

More Evans: Those close to Evans wonder about his role with the team going forward and how playing SF has affected his overall effort

With 35 secs? That's insulting.

Our coach just completely iced our best player on the night, benched him like he's the 12th man, and then basically b**** slapped him publicly by putting him back in with 35 secs to go, ICE COLD.

This is all interesting but wouldn't it be better served in a different thread? Odd that "those close to Evans" are making the very same points that have been discussed on here for weeks. Sorry, but I think some reporters - who may or may not be named Jason Jones - get some of their ideas by reading message boards. You know what I'm saying?

I know people are talking about Evans wacky minutes, but he's still leading our guards in that catagory... It's just been a weird pattern.
That's because of "Smart's" predilection for playing Evans, like, seventeen minutes straight, and then not playing him the rest of the half.

EDIT - Or else, puts him back in with less than a minute to go in the half, leading to the kind of "**** it" jump shots we saw to end the half.

Uh, you think he learned Reke's reps met with our FO from here? Whoever told him they were meeting probably told him a little more. How does that not make sense? Seems likely to me. J Jones rarely reports anything he doesn't know for certain, which is why he rarely reports much.

Pouting frustrated Cousins is starting to bug me. I brought my girlfriend to the Blazer's game, her first game of the year, and we had good seats, after a timeout when a kings player was fouled Cousins turns to the crowd behind the bench and screams F***! She asks me if he is always like this and I had a hard time defending him.

Happens at every NBA game. Ever sat courtside when KG is playing?

MY point was that this conversation would probably be better in its own thread, since not everyone bothers to read the game thread unless they're here during the game. The other part was a comment based on experience with various reporters over the years. While the meeting between Evans peeps and the front office wasn't here, it's also not unusual. The "people close to" phrase is often used by reporters to put something out that they may or may not be able to source. Sorry, but I'm not easily swayed by generic source comments, especially when they echo popular commentary.

Sometimes I just WISH Tyreke would be a bad team guy and speak up in the media about how ****ing stupid his coach is at using him.

Webber was kinda notorious for that sorta thing in his young career.
And look how many teams Webber played on in the first years of his career. We don't need a good player taking his grievances to the media. It never ends well for the team.

I accidentally quoted the wrong post there. It was meant to be about the F-bombs to the crowd. Not to mention, most players in the league do that.
