It seems like unless your name is Rick Adelman, you've got no chance of being liked as the coach of the Sacramento Kings on these boards. Lets list all the positive things Smart has done since taking over the team:
1. They went from getting blown out just about every game to now being competitive in almost all their games, even against good opponents on the road.
2. He has the respect of DMC and we haven't seen any blowups from him since PW got fired.
3. DMC is playing at an All Star level since Smart took over
4. He is developing our other young core players. This is something we never saw from PW.
5. He's the first coach who had the balls to bench John Salmons
6. He's also the first coach to have the balls get Tyreke out of the PG position and try him at SG and SF. We're starting to see him learn how to play the SF position.
7. He's making Jimmer earn his minutes instead of giving him the keys to the city which is what PW and the Maloofs wanted to do.
8. He's figured out that Hickson, Outlaw, and other members of the bench are terrible.
The reason why everybody is always upset at his rotations is because no matter what he does, there will always be terrible players on the floor. Hickson, Greene, Hayes, Thompson, Garcia, Salmons, and Outlaw are marginal NBA players. It's impossible to have a perfect rotation with this roster. He's playing small ball because that's what they've been able to be competitive with.
