what you see: the Kings outperformed the Warriors in pretty much every category other than turnovers. Tyreke and DMC turned the ball over the most. therefore -> they are to blame.
what everyone else sees: pretty much everybody outside of Tyreke and DMC didn't play all that well. those two however played great and nearly managed to outperform the Warriors by themselves, but turned the ball over too much, which often is a byproduct of being asked to do too much. conclusion -> the Kings need more players capable of stepping it up.

hth.
Did I blame Reke and DMC for the loss? I said turnovers are the reason we lost... it was the only statistic that the Kings lost in. Reke and DMC had nearly half of those turnovers... that is not "star" performance. That's what I said, and it's all true.

Jimmer needs to shoot the damn ball. Tired of watching him give up an open shot then drive in the middle and get stuck...like an instant replay every game now.
He barely got any minutes for a starter, and I'm not sure why. He shot 2-6 (1-2 from three) and had 2 assists and 2 TO's. Not a great line by any stretch of the imagination, but I felt like we needed him in the game since he's been shooting the ball so well lately... not sure why Smart opted to bench him for the vast majority of the 2nd half.

And about him dribbling into traffic so much... don't think he can help it, that's the kind of player he is. In college he was known for his 30 foot three pointers, but most of his points came from driving it into the lane and laying it in/pullig up for the shot/drawing contact and getting to the line. That's just his game, and he's trying to transition that into the NBA now. His teammates and coaches have told him to play the way he did in college, so that's why he does it. It's obviously much harder to do it in the NBA than it is in college, but he'll get it down, the same way he's finally getting his 3-pointers down again.

This. I feel like this year is more like the Thunder the year before they broke out than a year of us sucking.
If Coach Smart can develop our young players like Tyreke, DMC, etc and we get the Arena proposal passed, then I would consider this year a success. In retrospect, It was fool's gold this year trying to get any quality free agents to come to Sac due to our arena question mark and possibility of team moving.

I'm getting really tired of having thoughtful and explanitory posts receive 12-year old caliber responses like this. Did you even read what I wrote? How is it an excuse? What am I even excusing? He's trying to play the way now that he did in college. Whatever.

I'm with you. I wanted him in the game last night when it mattered. I do think the reason he was pulled though wasn't because of his statline but because of his defense which doesn't always translate to the statline. Secondly, I do agree that he is learning that the things he did in college aren't always going to work in the NBA, if ever. He will adjust and I think he has pretty decently already. I think there are alot of people who didn't even think he'd contribute at all to this team.

You're excusing his terrible play. And I for one am flabbergasted about how everything Jimmer does HAS to be spun into a positive. He is what he is right now: a rook who isn't making much of a contribution to the team outside of 3pt shooting. He needs to stay in his 15-20 minute role this season until he has a chance to be involved in a full NBA offseason.

See, I kind of think this whole season for the Kings counts as an NBA offseason. We're past the point where we can make a realistic run at the playoffs. If the Kings think Jimmer is a long-term part of the team, might as well let him get pushed around a bit this season.
