About what I already pretty much had figured out. Our only hope is that Anaheim can't offer the Kings a good enough deal this year.

Wow. KJ said, and I'm paraphrasing, "I don't think Sacramento, or whether or not we can get an arena built, has any influence on whether or not the Kings stay".

That, my friends, says a lot. Better start hoping Anaheim completely falls through. Although one thing I'll say about KJ, is that I don't know how much of what he says is pure emotion.

Well, I'm pretty sure that Anaheim is a legit deal, and I think it's all about sponsorships...we just don't have that many to support a pro sports franchise. That's why we're destined for being a minor league town...in the same fashion as Hartford, CT after they lost their beloved Whalers in the NHL.

The people of Sacramento had a decade to determine the outcome. Now, it's too late, and now people want to know what they can do, and are getting a dose of their own medicine.

Kevin Johnson is a very smart man. He basically is selling out the Maloofs' hand in their poker game vs Samueli. Now Samueli knows the Maloofs wants to go to Anaheim that bad and really doesn't want to fall back to Sacramento, he may actually not be as willing to bend over backwards. The chances of KJ's move actually changing the outcome is still slim, but KJ did all he could by not helping the Maloofs' negotiations.

Unfortunate, but that's what is happening. What I find to be a joke though, is the so called new plan, where Sac will build an arena with or without a team, and they'll finance it themselves.

If the Maloofs are planning on moving the team, as appears to be the case, their negotiations would be well advanced with Samueli and Anaheim officials. You don't ask for extension to file for relocation if you are seriously not considering something and if you are seriously considering it, then the negotiations are well under way and some of the points would already be agreed on but all of the points.

What KJ has said makes no difference on the negotiations because lets not forget that for years Anaheim has been trying to get the NBA team to relocate. They are as depserate to get the team to Anaheim as much as we fans are keen to keep it in Sacramento. Its not a case of, hey Kings if you want to move to Anaheim, we will welcome you but these are the rules that you must follow. Samueli and Anaheim officials would be doing everying in their power to try and sell Anaheim and Honda Center as the place to be and that includes sweetening the deal to the point where Maloofs cannot say no unfortunately.

This is not the case of Maloofs wanting to move and Anaheim being the only option. This is the case of Maloofs being open to moving and Anaheim trying to sell them on the move.

So it's basically what I and many others already thought. We'll stay...unless we get a deal in Anaheim. It's tantamount to your girlfriend or boyfriend saying...I'll stay with you unless I can hook up with the person I really want to be with. It's a bad scenario any way it turns out because even if they do stay, you end up resenting them because you know you're not their first choice and they'd be gone in a second if they could do better.

At this point, it sounds more like "we'll stay, if we don't get a deal in Anaheim".

Well, you are speaking as if you know exactly whats going on behind closed doors. Its just a different viewpoint.

Even more discouraging than that is the fact that the Maloofs declined to hand over ALL of the financial documents.
they didn't want anyone seeing that they could in fact have built the arena all on their own over the years of continued sellouts. :) Again I'm not making this crap up lol

Possibly, I hate these jerks so much right now. The maloofs are tearing the heart out of Sacramento and NorCal. I dont want to be a warriors fan. UGH.

Well, except that you are. But aside from that, sure, you're not.
You can talk all the smack you want, all of my info has been proven and verified. If you want to fail to listen, that's up to you.

If not then yes I'm just pulling from my arse.

Er, verified how? The Maloofs even during their heyday were third tier rich with their collective fortune barely reaching a billion dollars. The fact that they cannot pay back loans for the construction of the Palms and to the city of Sacramento seems to prove that.

19. The P.R. damage will be wonderful and vicious. Seattle lashed out against the Sonics' move in Seattle fashion: with incredible intelligence and, frankly, class. There were rallies, a great documentary and lawsuits. In Sacramento, full of grandstanding politicians, the birthplace of the Deftones? There will be anger. Anger at the Maloofs, anger at Stern, anger at the NBA brand. Jerseys will be burned left and right, and the virus of hatred will be spread to Oakland, where Warriors-Kings game will turn into the American equivalent of Greek soccer matches. Trust me. Sacramento will not go down with class and dignity.

The owners, again, meet April 14-15. The Maloofs will ask for advice, and some assurance that their relocation application would be met with approval. For the reasons stated above, I ask that the owners tell them to GTFO.
When the "Kings" move, I'll be apart of those Warriors fans booing them off the court, THAT'S for sure.

Mmm hmm. Right. Some random person on the internet just happens to know "proven and verified" financial information about the Kings that they are allegedly so secretive about that they won't even show it to a developer in good faith, and which points to malfeasance on their part. Oh, and don't forget, information which proves and verifies that the Maloofs have profited to the tune of $30M per year in a small town market over the course of their ownership.

It doesn't fly.

You can play the big boy and pretend to have secret knowledge. But me, I'm a bit cantankerous right now. If you haven't noticed, my team is a whisker away from leaving town and I'm not happy about it. And when somebody comes in here being the hotshot, pretending to know things they don't know just to try to smugly rub it in our faces I'm not going to take kindly to it, and I'm going to call it out. Don't be surprised.

you are all just pissed and rightly so.... it time you will come back to these threads and say...... wow he was right....

anyway, nothing personal at all... believe what you want too and do with it as you wish.

As for them not paying their bills.... that's the bad business decisions they have made. I never said they were filthy rich, I said they made a ton of cash off this team and Sacramento. How they spent it was the key...... and as you can see it was not in the right places.

Charlie sheen has made a ton of money too... but he has also spent it as fast as it comes in. You think there might be some connection? Charlie does love vegas! :)

All your info has been proved and verified? Only in your own mind. Quite frankly, you pulling things from your arse has become predictable. You're on whatever rumor bandwagon you think will be the most productive in stirring up excrement. If you're so convinced everything is over and it's a done deal, why not just sit back and smugly watch while the rest of us continue to try and find some small piece of hope to grasp onto? You polluting the threads with your particular brand of vitriol is a real waste of time. Luckily, since I'm not a moderator any longer, I don't feel the least bit guilty about using the "IGNORE" feature.

Could be for a few reasons:

* Don't want to participate in the latest arena effort yet and they feel they can wait until Anaheim move or stay decision to go forward.
* Don't want their financial numbers out of their control while they are in active negotiations with Anaheim. You don't hand over this critical info to somebody who wants to see your negotiations fail with Anaheim.

The bottom line is like the mayor stated, the process is between the Kings and Samueli now. We here are just fall back plan.
